Hello,
My name is Suzy Oberholtz and I am the local Publisher of
the Yale newspaper For the Record.
I wanted to touch base with you and let you know I will be
on hand at the reenactment to take pictures and do a story
on the event.
I have been very upset that it does not appear to have been
publicized as much as I would have hoped. Our newspaper has
done weekly articles and ads (unpaid of course) for the past
month in preparation for the event.
We plan to run several items in this weeks paper and of
course next week we will running pictures we take over the
course of the weekend.
If there is anything I need to know that will ensure we are
not in the way or bothersome I would appreciate a heads up
on that. David Lebow has been very helpful to us, he is a
member of our staff and has a huge amount of knowledge
concerning these events.

I would love to be able to get some copies of the paper to
you after printing next week for the reenactors to have for
keepsakes. I am not worried about compensation but I can not
afford to mail them to everyone, so if they would like a
copy if you can arrainge for that or let them know if they
get me their name and address and $2 I can get them a
newspaper after its published.

ALSO, I am the owner of Sweet-teas Tea Room right across
the street from the high school in Yale. We are opening up
at 8 am-8 pm on Friday and Saturday serving breakfast lunch
and dinner.

we will have biscuits and gravy or a scramble skillet for
$5.49 (we will have a price if they want both also so it
will be a savings)

lunch we will offer cold sandwiches and homemade soups from
our regular menu, very reasonable prices, infact we will
have a special that is $5.99 or less depending on what
special we have that day.

dinner will be friday night lliver and onions or ham, with
baked potato, veggie, salad, dessert and drink for $10.99
saturday  night, pork loin, or meat loaf, baked potatoe,
veggie, salad, dessert and drink for $10.99

our salads are beautiful and high quality and our desserts
are homemade and beautiful too. we normall charge $3.99 for
dessert alone and are very underpriced according to other
tea rooms.

our hope is since I was informed by Linda Frick that there
are no food vendors we can help fill a void for the
reenactors and spectators alike.

our servers will be dressed in period dresses and we are
trying to arrainge for a local lady to sing at least part of
the time this weekend.

We understand there is a ball (which I will be attending- I
have hired help to replace me) so we are hoping everyone can
be well feed before that starts or if they arent going we
will be there.

Also in town is Chava's Mexican Restruant and Dairy Hut
which has burgers and such as I am sure you have seen in
past years. I also understand the firemen are having a Bean
Dinner from 11-5

I look forward to meeting you and can not express how
excited I am about this event. I hope to have an active part
in making future events an even bigger success.

Thank you
Suzy Oberholtz
