By signing this LIABILITY WAIVER, I acknowledge that the "Battle at Cassville" Civil War Reenactment and its related activities may involve hazardous activities and situations. I have made a voluntary choice to participate in these activities despite the risks that may be presented. In consideration of my being permitted to participate in the above named event I hereby assume any and all risks of injury or death which might be associated with or result from my participation in this event.
I hereby release and discharge the event sponsors/hosts, to include but not be limited to, Battle of Cassville,the Trans-Mississippi Brigade,the Frontier Brigade and all Affiliated Unit Officers, directors, agents, members and employees of said sponsors/hosts, against any and all actions, claims, and or demands that I, my legal guardians, my heirs or assigns, or my representatives may hereafter make for injury, death or damage resulting from my participation in the above named event.
I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Cassville, MO to include but not be limited to, Battle of Cassville, the Trans-Mississippi Brigade, the Frontier Brigade, all Affiliated Unit Officers, landowners & all officers, directors, agents, members and employees of said sponsors/hosts, for any injury or damage to any person or property resulting from my participation in the above named event.
I, the undersigned registered participant (or his/ her legal representative), have carefully read and understand this agreement and all of its terms. I understand this is a release of liability which will legally prevent me or any other person on my behalf from filing suit or making any other legal claim for damages in the event of my death or any injury to me or my property. I hereby enter into this agreement freely and voluntarily and stipulate that it is binding upon me, my heirs, assigns, and legal representatives.
I understand that the event sponsor/hosts reserve the right to deny participation to any individual who does not follow the event rules, or fails to observe acceptable and reasonable authenticity and safety standards.
I have read, understand, and will follow the rules printed on the back of this form and will follow instructions issued by the sponsors and the US and CS command structures. This event is by invitation only. It is open to any current member unit of the Trans-Mississippi Brigade, the Frontier Brigade, and the Missouri Civil War Reenactors Association. No walk-ons will be allowed on the property. This form must be completed by all participants.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
Participation in this event is by invitation only. Everyone participating in this event must have a legitimate affiliation with an invited military or civilian organization and have received thorough training in respect to the impression presented. Recruits from the crowd will not be considered "trained", under any circumstances, and will not be allowed to participate. Absolutely no unattached military or civilian walk-ons will be allowed.
The overall Military commanders will be designated by the local sponsor and the host reenactor units. Those commanders will appoint their own specific branch commanders for the services under their charge. All units/individuals will place themselves subordinate to their respective overall/branch commander. No individual or organization will presume to operate outside that command structure.
SAFETY AND CONDUCT GUIDELINES:
All participants will conduct themselves in a courteous and professional manner and exhibit respect for the site, the event, the visitors and their fellow reenactors. Unit commanders will be held responsible for the conduct and discipline of their troops. All Military participants must be prepared to Galvanize as necessary for scenerios.
All safety issues pertaining to weapons in the ranks will be responsibility of the individual commanders, e.g. 2-banders, shotguns, hand guns, etc. NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 16 YEARS CAN CARRY WEAPONS ON THE BATTLEFIELD!
No weapons will be demonstrated or for any reason discharged within the bounds of the civilian camps.
Bullets or live rounds of any kind are not allowed on the event site. Firearms should only be discharged in designated drill and battle areas and under the direct supervision of officers or NCOs. No projectiles of any kind will be permitted. Rammers will only be pulled for Safety inspections, weapons inspections etc. They will not be pulled during battles. Camp fires will only be built in designated camp areas and will be the responsibility of reenactors to attend and to keep properly banked at all times.
Children must be under the supervision of an adult at all times.
A current EIA test (Coggins for instate horses and a health certificate from a DVM for out of state horses) are required for each animal. Units with horses must station at least one unit member with their horses when the public are in the camps.
Vehicular traffic is restricted from the camp sites between the times of 0600 Saturday the 20th and the conclusion of the battle on Sunday the 21st.
Reenactors must park in designated reenactor parking area only.
This is a City of Cassville Park. No Alcoholic Beverages and/or illegal drugs of any kind will be permitted. Possession or use of either may result in arrest by local authorities. Anyone violating these guidelines will be removed by local authorities.
AUTHENTICITY GUIDELINES:
The period and setting for the weekend will be Missouri circa 1861-62. Reenactors should strive for, where practical, a reasonable impression of the uniforms, weapons, and accouterments of the period and place. The impression by Confederate troops should be organized Missouri State Guard, and for Federals will be US. Regulars.
Artillery pieces must be full size (full scale) and not scaled down facsimiles. Artillary Coordinator Mike Roderman
Will have final say on any artillery piece as to safety and compliance.
US and CS command structures will be the final arbiters in determining if a unit or individual meets authenticity and safety standards. Troops not meeting these standards will not be allowed to participate.
After 0700 Saturday morning, all persons registered as reenactors, military or civilian, are expected to be in period clothing while in the encampment.
All modern equipment should be hidden from view throughout
the weekend, especially during the hours the camps are opened
to the public.
The highest standards for Civil War reenacting authenticity and safety will apply at all times throughout the event. Where issues of authenticity and safety exist, the final resolution will be the decision of the respective overall field commanders. Anyone who persists in the violation of any of the above stated rules, or who in anyway creates a safety or authenticity problem, whether stated in this notice or not, may be asked to leave the premises of the event. Anyone refusing to vacate the premises when ordered to do so will be declared a trespasser and will have to deal with local authorities up to an including arrest.
