The Diamond Affair: part 5-7
Chapter 5:
Next Morning - At Lita's
The sun's rays filtered through the curtains of the
room. Ami was the first one to wake up. She sat up
and looked at
her watch, it read 8:55. She then began thinking
about how the past
two nights had taken their toll on all of them. First
with Serena
being attacked, then her heart-wrentching story of the
events that
transpired. Everyone was tired and upset with these
people from the
dark moon. First they go after a small child, and now
after Serena:
their princess. Everyone had had enough.
Ami then scanned the room. Lita, Mina, and Mirchiru
were still asleep on the floor. She then looked to
where Rei and
Haruka were, and smiled. Although both Rei and Haruka
hardly ever
admit it, they care for Serena very much. She
remembered the day when
Serena had told them that Darien broke up with her.
It took a lot of
convincing on Serena's part to get them to promise not
to beat him up.
'They're so protective of her,' she thought. 'Rei
is
like an overprotective sister and Ruka is like an
overprotective
brother. No wonder the two of them insisted on
sleeping next to
Serena.'
Serena.
Ami crawled over to where the three of them were
supposed to be.
Ami: "Oh Kamisama (in other words, oh my god) !!!"
She exclaimed so loudly that everyone got up
immediately.
Mina: "What's going on?!"
Ami, not being able to speak at the moment, looked
at
Rei, then at Haruka. She then looked down to where
Serena should be.
Haruka: "Shimatta!!"
Lita: "Nani (in other words, what) ?!"
Rei: "Serena's gone! That's what!"
Mirchiru: "How can this be possible?"
Haruka: "Where is she? Where can she be? Where is
she?"
Mina: "Alright, everyone just calm down. Before we
jump to conclusions, how do we know that she's not in
the bathroom or
something."
Before anyone could answer, Lita ran to the bathroom
and came back with a grim look on her face, "She's not
there!"
Mina: "Alright, um, Ami, you use your computer to
see
if you can track her down. Rei and Mirchiru, get to
the temple and do
a fire reading. Lita and Ruka, check the apartment to
see if maybe she
left a note or something."
Ami: "What about you?"
Mina: "I'm going to call the guys."
Rei and Mirchiru, who were almost out the door,
stopped
abruptly and said, "No!!" simulataniously.
Rei: "We can't let Darien find out. You saw how he
was last night. He's already so freaked out. We
can't tell him yet."
Ami: "She's right. We don't know what he'll do."
Mina: "Fine, I'll tell them the situation, and tell
them not to say a word of it to Darien." They all
nodded, and went to
do their prescribed tasks.
Meanwhile . . .
Darien woke up to the sun's rays shining on his
face.
He wasn't going to get up, but was startled to hear
some voices. Then
the events of last night flashed through his mind. He
realized that
Michael and Jason must've stayed the night. His
thoughts then drifted
back to last night.
'So, what happens now? What if it didn't work?' he
thought. 'It had to!' He had the nightmares as
usual, and woke up,
as usual, in a cold sweat. But this time, he was too
tired to stay
awake, so he went back to sleep, and didn't wake up
until just now.
Usually, after the dream, he wouldn't bother sleeping
agian, for he
feared that he would have to relive that same dream
that plagued his
nights (AN: it happened a few times, so he decided
that it would be
best if he didn't go back to sleep). The fact that he
went back to
sleep and didn't have the dream again, made him feel a
little uneasy.
'I went back to sleep, but I didn't have the dream
again. What does this mean?!' His thoughts were
interupted by the
ringing of the phone and Michael's voice . . .
Michael: "Hello, Chiba residence."
Darien couldn't help but smile. Michael was always
so
formal, even back in the Silver Mill- (AN: I read
that Malachite
treated Darien/Endymion very formally, even if he
didn't have to, sorry
just thought I'd add that, in case I was wrong).
Michael: "WHAT!!!!!!!"
'That can't be good . . . . . Serena!' Darien
jumped
out of bed and ran out the door, only to be greeted by
Jason, who began
holding him back.
Darien: "Let go of me, Jay!! What's going on?! Is
it
Rini?! Serena?! Talk to me! Let go Jay!!!"
Chapter 6:
Jay: "Calm down Darien! You're not helping any!"
Darien: "Don't you DARE tell ME to CALM DOWN! WHAT
is going on?!"
Michael: "ENOUGH!!"
Jay and Darien stopped their bickering and turned to
Michael, who stood there with an impatient look on his
face. Before
Michael could say anything more, the doorbell rang,
and Michael being
closest to the door, dropped the phone and sprinted to
the door.
Michael: "Oh! Its just you." he said somewhat
disappointed.
Nate: "Gee thanks! We feel so special now!"
Michael: "WE!?"
Zach came into view holding a sleeping Rini in his
arms
and said, "See! Told you they'd miss you." Michael,
realizing that
Serena was there too, gives her a bear hug, and says,
"Don't you know
that you had us worried! The scouts were especially
worried! What
do you have to say for yourself?"
Serena: "Why don't you ask YOUR Prince?" At that
moment all eyes flew from Serena and onto Darien, who
stood there
speechless, trying to think of something to say, "Um,
. . . well,
. . . you see . . . I, . . . uh, um . . . " Serena
answered for him
by saying, "You were JEALOUS! You thought that using
our link to send
me that dream would make everything BETTER!" All the
Generals were
dumbfounded by Serena's words, but then suddenly
realization dawned on
them and they realized what she meant. Serena saw the
look of
realization on their faces and said, "YOU KNEW! The
whole time! Every
time I cried my eyes out, you told me you didn't know!
HOW COULD all
of you LIE to ME!"
All of the men looked very ashamed of themselves.
She
was right, they had lied to her, even if it was to
protect her. Serena
took their silence as acceptance (AN: silence is not
acceptance, so
fight back!), and continued her lecture, "I can't
believe this! If I
can't trust you, than WHO can I trust?! This is MY
LIFE!! I can do
WHATEVER I please! I don't need YOU to decide for
ME!" Now addressing
Darien, she says, "We could've talked this out. We
could've found a
way through this! But, as always, YOU shut me out!
How can I go on
like this! We're supposed to share our problems and
help each other
out. I don't care what happens to me, as long as
we're together. When
we're together, I feel as if, as if, we can do almost
anything . . .
Now, now I don't know anymore. You've actually gone
and done the
unthinkable . . . "
(AN: what could this unthinkable thing be? this is a
great place to
end this chapter, but i promised that it would be a
long chapter, so
don't worry! i'm only playing with you! anyway if
you want to find
out what she going to say, then i suggest you scroll
down and read!
sorry, needed a break from the seriousness of the
situation).
" . . . you've made me doubt our love." (AN: oh
no!
what will our masked hero do to remedy the situation?
how will he get
her back? has he really lost her?)
All of Serena's words stabbed Darien in the heart.
He
felt so guilty. He began thinking, 'Why must I always
do this!? Why
do I always push HER away!? I have to make her
understand that I do
truly love her, and will do anything for her! I'm not
going to lose
her, because I did something stupid! I need her in my
life! How am I
going to make her understand . . . "
Darien: "Generals!"
The Generals were also feeling the pain of her
words.
Their heads were bowed in shame. They were suddenly
broken out of
their thoughts by the voice of their prince.
Michael, realizing the seriousness of Darien's tone,
answered formally, "Yes, your majesty?"
Darien: "Will you please leave Serena and I alone
for
a few minutes."
Nate: "Of course."
Jason: "Whatever you wish."
Zach: "We'll be with Rini (AN: forgot about her,
huh? well, if you must know, while Michael was giving
Serena a hug,
Zach took Rini to Darien's bedroom, since she was
still asleep)if you
need anything." The four men then wordlessly
proceeded to Darien's
bedroom. Darien waited until he heard the door close
before speaking.
"Usako . . . " (AN: in case you're wondering, i
happen to think it is very cute when Darien calls her
that. i know
that i am using the NA version of their names, but
lets just pretend
that her middle name is Usagi, and his is Mamoru. so
she can call him
Mamo-chan and he can call her Usako. if you have a
problem with that
then too bad! this is my story and i can do whatever
i want!).
Serena, who was looking down and crying, looked up,
yet
still refused to meet his gaze. Darien saw her
crystalline tears and
realized how serious she was. He was broken out of
his thoughts by
the sound of Serena's low voice, "How can you call ME
THAT after all
that you've put me through."
Darien was taken back by her comment, he couldn't
believe that she was saying this, at the same time, he
couldn't blame
her . . .
In the Future . . .
Neo-King Endymion watched the whole scene from a
portal
at the time gate. He was just as shocked as his
younger self. He
never meant to hurt his beloved, he just couldn't live
without her
during this long separation. He couldn't believe that
he had actually
made her doubt his love for her. How could it be
possible? Then, an
idea popped into his head, and he knew exactly what he
had to do. He
knew that he didn't have much strength left and that
Pluto would be
very angry at him, well, more than angry, she'd
probably knock him down
with her time staff (AN: LOL! :) can you imagine
that?!) but it would
be worth it (AN: what is he going to do?!) . . .
Back at Darien's Apartment . . .
Darien kept trying to get her to look at him. He
didn't know what to say. Everything was so quiet that
you could hear
a pin drop. Then, suddenly, a gust of wind blew into
the room and
formed a fog-like atmosphere. The Generals, who were
listening from
the closed door, came running out after they heard
Serena gasp. The
six of them were greeted by a man. He had dark hair
and was wearing a
mask. He wore a purple tuxedo and his hands were
gloved in white, and
one of them held a scepter. He looked, one by one, at
each of the men,
before his eyes fell upon Serena. He smiled widely
when he saw her.
'She looks even more beautiful than I remember . . .
She looks healthy and ALIVE, not pale and sickly . . .
" He thought
as he continued giving her an animal-like stare. His
eyes couldn't
get enough of her luscious body and delicate curves.
Darien and the Generals stared with awe. All of
them
were thinking: 'who is this guy?' When Serena began
blushing under
this strange man's gaze, Darien had had enough! 'Who
the hell does he
think he is! How DARE HE UNDRESS MY USAKO, right in
front of me, no
less! How DARE HE LOOK AT HER LIKE THAT!' (AN: oh
no! is our
favorite masked man getting just a tad bit jealous?
what will he do?)
he thought as he took two strides forward and pushed
Serena behind him
(AN: is that all he's going to do?). Lets just say
that Endy
(AN: Endy? i thought it was cute, no?)was not too
thrilled by his
younger self's actions.
Darien: "WHO are YOU and WHAT DO YOU WANT?"
"Who do I look like?" No one expected this response
from him. They all thought he looked vaguely
familliar, but didn't
say anything. Serena, being bold said, "You look like
my Mamo-chan."
Endy grinned even more. He hadn't heard her voice in
so long, he
answered, "Darien, I am your future self. I came to
let you know that
I was the one who sent you those dreams." Darien
immediately realized
the voice was the same as in the dream and looked like
he was going to
kill his future self. None of them could understand
why his future
self would do such a thing. As if reading their
thoughts, Endy
continued, "I did it because the future is changing .
. . something
happened to my Serenity, your future self, Princess,
and I would not
be able to live without her had it not been for yours
and Darien's
separation . . . I would've gone insane without her,
you . . . This
never meant to hurt you, the way it did. For that, I
am truly sorry
. . . I, we, do love you . . . you must never doubt or
forget that."
(AN: another good place to leave off, but again, i
won't, so don't
worry!)
Endy waited for a few moments (AN: why you ask? so
that what he said was absorbed by the others.
absorbed?) before
continuing, "I'll leave you now. I believe that the
two of you have
some catching up to do." He looked at each one of the
Generals once
more and noticed that they understood how he felt (AN:
had it been
one of them, they would've done the same). Endy
smiled and looked at
his younger self. Darien understood as well, but he
wasn't too
thrilled about it, yet he moved a little away from
Serena, so that
Endy could see her (AN: awww! how sweet! i wonder
if he'd do that
if it was diamond, not endy? hmmm. good question,
no?). Endy did not
expect this much understanding from his past self, but
was nonetheless
pleased. He was shocked at first, but then extremely
happy. He looked
at her longingly and mouted'I love you' to her. He
began to leave, but
not before disclosing one more piece of information.
"She's yours
too."
Relief washed over Darien as he realized that Rini
was
his and Serena's daughter. He turned and began
looking at her. They
looked into each others eyes and said nothing. Their
eyes revealed
everything that needed to be said: 'sorry' 'i love
you' 'missed you'
Darien unconsciously licked his lips. He'd been
waiting so long to taste her lips on his once more.
The anticipation
was killing him, as it was Serena as well. Both were
oblivious to the
four men who wanted to leave (AN: and should've
left), but they needed
to see them kiss, so that they knew everything would
be alright again.
The two inched closer and closer to one another.
Darien, being very impatient, couldn't wait. He
grabbed Serena by the
waist and brought her closer to him. She gasped in
surprise and ended
up hitting his chest, but smiled nonetheless (AN:
have you noticed
that i have used that word a lot. i don't know why!).
Their faces
began moving closer and closer to each other, as
Serena tilted her chin
and snaked her arms around his neck and began playing
with his hair.
He in turn ran one hand through her golden, silky
hair, while the other
caressed her cheek. The gap between them was almost
closed . . .
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
BEEP! BEEP!
(AN: you think that was enough to ruin the moment?!
you didn't
actually think that i'd let them kiss yet, now did
you?)
The communicators went off. Serena somehow managed
to
get away from Darien and get hers. She said, "Moon
here."
Ami: "Its good to see you. When we're through with
this youma, you're gonna get a nice long lecture!"
"Sorry. Where are you?"
"We're at the old warehouse. Hurry! We need Sailor
Moon!"
Serena closed the communicator and said, "Duty
calls!
We gotta book it!" (AN: of course, darien was upset,
to say the
least, but whats a few more hours, right?"
As if on cue, Luna and Artimas show up and say that
they'll watch Rini (AN: forgot about her again,
didn't you?), and
that there will be a scout meeting at Darien's later
to discuss
information discovered about the Dark Moon (AN: in
case you're
wondering, while all this was going on, our two cats
were at central
to find out information. what's this information, you
ask? well,
we're just going to have to wait and find out).
The Generals, Darien, and Serena transformed and
went
on their way to the battle.
Chapter 7:
At the battle:
Mars and Venus are hurt. Mercury is checking them out
with her data computer. Jupiter, Neptune, and Uranus are trying to
hold off the youma so that Mercury can finish her analysis. Moon, Tux,
and the Generals show up and begin to help. Zoicite runs to aid
Mercury, while Malachite and Jedite rush to their beloveds.
Uranus: "Glad you're alright. Don't ever do that
again."
Moon: "Sorry, don't worry about me, I-"
Jupiter: "Can we discuss this later . . . we have a
youma to annihilate . . . Jupiter thunder clap . . . zap!"
Her attack hit the youma and momentarily distracted it.
It gave Moon enough time to power up her sceptor.
"Moon Sceptor . . . -"
Suddenly a blast came from above Moon, sending her
flying into a building.
Tuxedo Mask's POV
We arrived at the battle to see that Mars and Venus
were quite hurt. Luckily they weren't hurt too badly. Zoicite went to
help Mercury, while Malachite and Jedite rushed to see them. Nephlite,
Serena, and I went to help Jupiter, Neptune, and Uranus. They seemed
very tired and it was obvious that they needed help. Uranus and
Jupiter exchanged a few words with Serena, as we tried to dodged the
youma's advances. Jupiter called her attack, whick thankfully
distracted the youma. Serena began powering up. She took out her
sceptor, when out of the corner of my eye I saw this huge ball of
energy heading right at her. Time seemed to stand still. I couldn't
move. I was too far away from her to do anything. It hit her and sent
her flying into one of the buildings . . . she didn't even see it
coming . . .
"USAKO!!!"
Author POV
"USAKO!!!"
Everyone turned to see what happened. All of them had
seen the ball of energy head towards their princess. They couldn't do
anything. It all happened so fast. By the time they could react, it
was too late.
Tux was filled with fury. He had just gotten her back
and was not going to lose her. He directed his anger at the youma. A
great power overtook him. He felt a surge of new energy fill him.
There was a bright light. After it disipated, Prince Endymion stood at
the spot where Tuxedo Mask had occupied. He looked at the youma with a
burning rage. He took out his sword and began advancing towards the
youma.
Everyone else yelled at him to stop, even though they
knew their objections were futile . . . he would do it no matter what
. . . stopping him was out of the question. So, they just watched.
They watched as their Prince advanced to the youma, sword in hand.
Prince Endymion quickly and precisely slashed the
youma (AN: think moonlight knight). It cried in anguish as it
disappeared into nothingness. Satisfied with his actions, the Prince
faded back into our masked hero, Tuxedo Mask. He turned his attention
to his fallen angel. He began rushing towards her, Mercury and Zoicite
following quickly behind him. The others recovered from their shock of
the whole scene and followed as well. All were stopped by the voice of
an unknown stranger.
"The blast wasn't meant to hurt her, just disable her
for the time being."
In front of them stood a cloaked man. He was floating
in the air, and had a crystal ball. You couldn't see his face, the
hood of the cloak covered it.
Tux was the first to recover and recognized the cloaked
figure, "Wiseman."
"I'm glad you remembered who I am. For a minute there
I thought that you had forgotten," he sarcastically replied, before
continuing, "Dear Prince, I had no idea that you were so powerful! The
roses and lame speeches had me fooled (AN: is he making fun of our
Darien?! how dare he! lets beat him up! LOL)! Why don't you join
us? The power of the dark crystal will amplify your powers even more
than you can imagine."
"I would NEVERY join the likes of YOU!"
"Pity. I guess I'll just have to kill you, then."
The Generals and Senshi began taking stances to protect
him. They stood on either side of him, the Generals to the left, the
Senshi to the right.
Out of nowhere gusts of wind began blowing in their
direction. They used their hands/arms to protect their eyes from harm.
A man with shoulder length white hair, dressed in a
prisine white uniform with a purple embroidered pattern sewn on the
shirt. The uniform was completed with a cape, on one side it was
white, and on the other it was purple. He came into view through the
gusts of wind (AN: who could this man be? i think its pretty obvious.
don't you?).
Tux took one look at him and knew that it was the
infamous Prince Diamond of the Dark Moon. The same man that was after
his future daughter . . . the same man that hurt HIS Usako, twice, . .
. the same man that had some sort of obsession with HIS Usako (AN:
diamond and darien have never met before. diamond has met the neo-
king, but that's in the future. diamond and darien have never met in
the past . . . until now. hope that clarifies things).
Tux was once again filled with fury. How dare this man
just show up and think he can just take her! He seethed with anger,
gritted his teeth, and clenched his fists.
Diamond and Tux were locked in a staring contest. It
seemed as though they were "measuring" each other's abilities. Diamond
began grinning, and no one could understand why. Suddenly, a third eye
formed on Diamond's forehead. It emitted a strange power which left
everyone powerless.
"What's going on?!!!"
"I can't move!!!"
"I feel like I'm losing my powers!!!"
Each one of our heroes began dropping to the ground.
They could not stand against the sudden loss of their powers and
energies.
Diamond seeing each one of them on one knee grinned
even more before speaking, "Well, I'm glad that you hold such respect
for me! I never thought that any of you would bow down before me and
my greatness!"
Everyone was mad at the comment and tried even harder
to get up.
"We would NEVER BOW DOWN TO YOU, YOU BASTARD!!" yelled
Uranus.
Diamond disregarded the comment and turned his gaze to
Sailor Moon.
Diamond's POV
She looked so beautiful. Her sailor skirt was short,
and it showed off her long and shapely legs. Her shirt hugged her
upper body in all the right places. She was perfect and soon all mine.
I watched as Wiseman sent the blast to MY Queen. She
didn't even see it coming. I felt a little guilty, but I had ordered
it. We needed her disabled. The attack on her two days ago and this
one were only meant to make her more vulnerable to accept energy from
the dark crystal. At any rate, the dark crystal will heal her nicely.
I saw the prince kill the youma. Momentarily, I was
shocked. The only person I had seen with such great power was Neo-
Queen Serenity herself. I didn't expect him to possess such power as
well. No matter, I'll still defeat him and get what I want . . . I
always get what I want (AN: famous Diamond words . . . LOL!).
Wiseman made his appearance and I felt the need to join
him. The prince and I ended up in a sort of staring contest. I
grinned. My third eye opened and unleashed its power. They were all
defenseless and even better, they looked like they were bowing down in
respect for me. Of course that wasn't the case, but how could I resist
not commenting, "Well, I'm glad that you hold such respect for me! I
never thought that any of you would bow down before me and my
greatness!"
They seemed to get even angrier and tried even harder
to get up. Resistance is futile. One of them said something to me,
but I was too distracted to say anything. I saw her. She was lying
on the ground. She looked helpless in her sailor suit. Her golden
hair had come undone. She looked beautiful.
My fingers ached to touch her face, her hair, her body.
I had always watched her from a distance, I was never close enough to
actually touch her. Yet, there she was, just lying there. I slowly
moved closer to her and knelt down before her. My hands moved slowly
to her face. I brushed a few strands of hair from her angelic face.
Her face felt so soft . . . almost like . . . like silk or . . . a rose
petal. Her chest moved up and down, indicating that she was still
breathing.
Suddenly, I saw her eyes begin to flutter open. I
stared into her deep blue orbs, as I so often did and fancied. I saw
shock, fear, and recognition in them. There was no love there. I
remembered how she looked at him. Why couldn't she look at me with
those eyes? She whispered something, "Diamond . . . " before slowly
closing her eyes and falling asleep.
I smiled. She said my name. Her voice was like
silver bells to my ears. She was tired. I had to get her out of here,
and take care of her. I saw that Wiseman had already left, and decided
that it was time for me to take leave as well.
I lifted her up. She fell against my chest. I smiled
again, and reveled in the feeling of her small body so close to mine.
She felt so light in my arms. I could feel her warmth radiating in me,
through my veins, filling my heart with something. I looked at each
one of her protectors. They looked at me with contempt. They looked
like they were going to kill me. I looked back at MY angel, and kissed
her forehead, I think that the Prince got mad, but was in no position
to do anything.
"Till we meet again . . . I always get what I want."
I disappeared into a portal, with my queen in my arms.
