Subject: your website

First of all I don't really expect you to post the truth on your website, so feel free to edit this and rip apart the truth as you see fit.

I just wanted to drop a line and tell you that the crap that you are posting on your website is a waste of cyberspace. These allegations made by these convicted felons at Wakulla CI is a sorry attempt to gain some sympathy from a few bleeding hearts. These people were placed in prison because they could not function in normal everyday society and they seem to even have a problem functioning in a caged and controlled enviroment.

These felons were not placed in prison because they sang too loud in the choir on sunday. These people have committed murder, armed robbery, aggravated battery, molested children and various other crimes. Fortunately for us, the majority of law abiding, tax paying citizens of florida, have respect for the job the officers of the florida department of corrections do every day- 24 hours- 7 days a week.

We sacrifice time with our families to come control the very worst of florida's population. I would be willing to bet, that if your family was the victim of a crime and not the family of an offender, you would find more constructive things to do with your time, rather than post the trash and outright lies that you have posted on your website.

Subject: WAKULLA GUARD SEZ: your website

Hello, Sarge:

Let me assure you, I have no desire to censor your email. It stands as you wrote it, except I edited your spelling a little bit so you'd look smarter.

Did I expect anything more from a guard than "all inmates are liars and so are you"?

Sacrifice the time with your families to earn your paycheck?  Why would I give you any more credit for that than any other worker drone?  I wonder how much of that 'family time' you spend at the local bars drumming up acts of revenge!  You talk like you are donating your personal time to do something great for us. Don't you lay that off on me. You are getting paid to do a job! You shouldn't need rewards other than your paycheck for doing your job, even if you did it properly! And you should expect to pay for doing it wrong.

You know, Sarge, yesterday it was about the crimes the prisoners did...today my friend, it is about the crimes people in uniform are committing.  You can fool some of the people some of the time....

No, most people do NOT have respect for the job guards do anymore. Whose fault is that?  Mine for trying to bring some professionalism to the DOC or yours for either committing crimes or witnessing crimes you should have reported and didn't?    In our world, we call that cowardly.

Courage? Go ahead and tell the readers how many guards have been killed in the line of duty in the last five years? Tell them how many prisoners have died vicious deaths that if truth were known was at the hands of guards. If your job is more dangerous than it needs to be, you can blame errant guards who are focused on breaking men's minds, bodies, and spirits. You can blame Michael Moore for removing all pretense at rehabilitation. You can blame yourselves for not demanding more common sense methods. But don't blame me for exposing it.

More than sixty-five percent of the inmates you oversee were non-violent people before prison; another 15% are innocent....and Lord only knows how many should have been put in a mental hospital rather than prison. For heaven's sake, we have given you a majority of prisoners who won't lift a finger to fight back when you're breaking their bones!

Courage?  In your world, you know you are ALWAYS going to win.  You outnumber your opponent any number to 1
; He's cuffed, you're not; You've got stun shields, pepperspray, management loaf, goon squads, the hole, restraining devices, cowboy boots for kicking them when they are down, and you want me to make a hero out of you? Give me a break.

Hard Working? Too many of you go to work with an attitude, prop your feet on the desk, and ignore your job as keepers of people. You ignore your bosses' rules, ignore the prisoners (when you aren't in the mood to hurt them), ignore the needs of their families.  And way too many of you have psychological problems that you take out on the prisoners because you can and take out on your own families because it's habit. Don't glorify yourself to me. I no longer buy it Although once, when I was naive, I did, and you spoiled it yourself.   The good guards witness wrongdoing and let it pass without report because they want to make money, and because of that, the bad guards have run rampant, doing just about what they darn well please!    The bad have ruined the reputation of the good because the good let them.

Even if you go to work and follow the rules and do the best job you know how, you get no brownie points from me!  Not if you are not pounding on Tallahassee's door demanding the firing of bullies and thieves.  I've had enough contact with prisoners, their families and attorneys, disgusted DOC personnel and medical staff to know that liars are found on both sides of the wire!

One of your own told me that many of you, if you weren't wearing a uniform, would be gangs on the street. Are they liars too? I notice that anyone who suggests that all is not right in the world of prison guards are liars, whether it be prisoners, families, ex-guards, dead guards, it's all the same:  They are all liars, and you are the only one telling the truth.  I've also noticed that guards turn on each other and retaliate for telling as quickly as they do on a prisoner or a family member. A vicious bunch of people have jobs in Florida's prisons, and I mean to do all I can to get them exposed, fired, or 'rehabilitated'.

I don't know which side of the law you are on, but I just want you to remember that 'good officers' are breaking the law too, by lying, covering up, and ignoring errant behavior of bad guards. Now, I don't know if you are  Sgt McCoy, Agerton, or Wilson, or just an onlooker defending them, but think about this:  When more pressure is applied, many of the better quality people wearing those uniforms will want to correct their stand. Then you may be in serious trouble.  Check it out:

Florida Statute 944.35

4(d) Each employee who witnesses, or has reasonable cause to suspect, that an inmate or an offender under the supervision of the department in the community has been unlawfully abused or is the subject of sexual misconduct pursuant to this subsection shall immediately prepare, date, and sign an independent report specifically describing the nature of the force used or the nature of the sexual misconduct, the location and time of the incident, and the persons involved. The report shall be delivered to the inspector general of the department with a copy to be delivered to the warden of the institution or the regional administrator. The inspector general shall immediately conduct an appropriate investigation, and, if probable cause is determined that a violation of this subsection has occurred, the respective state attorney in the circuit in which the incident occurred shall be notified.

(4)(a) Any employee required to report pursuant to this section who knowingly or willfully fails to do so, or who knowingly or willfully prevents another person from doing so, commits a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

(b) Any person who knowingly or willfully submits inaccurate, incomplete, or untruthful information with regard to reports required in this section commits a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

To set the record straight:  My family has been the 'victim' of one of the most serious crimes of all, and there is no one in my family who has been an offender.  In fact my brother is law enforcement, my ex-husband is a prison guard with heart, and my father was a REAL sergeant in the Air Force.  How about that?

I can't think of a more constructive thing to do with my time than what God asks of me.  How about you?-
