Subject: Union Correctional Institution Visitation
Hello Kay,
Thank you for your webpage about Union. I have found it too late. Anyway, I am asking for your help. When I dial the phone #'s to Union I was given e.g. 904-431-2000 I get a recording that it is a bad #.Gov. Jeb Bush just signed a Death Warrant for a friend of mine at Union. I need to know if I can still visit him and if his mailing address has changed. Can you help me with that information, or direct me to the person who can?
Thank you in advance if you can.

As for visiting a death row inmate whom the gov. has signed a death warrant for, immediately after that signing, the inmate is moved from Union to FSP. They then call it 'Death Watch'. He has probably been moved to death watch already. It's there, not Union, that you will need to contact as far as visiting privileges. The phone number for FSP is
904-368-2500.Once the Death Watch inmate has been moved to FSP, he is easy to write to. Simply write to FSP instead of UCI. Same address, but zip at FSP is 32026-1160.
"When families and friends visit Death Watch inmates at FSP, they do not have to chose any day at all. I do believe that at FSP visitors can chose from week to week which day they wish to go. You can visit either Saturday or Sunday and, if you are on their visitation list, you just show up. This is for regular visitors."
If friends are on the inmate's visiting list at UCI, they can also visit the same prisoner at FSP. But on Death Watch it will be non-contact visits." You will be able to visit him at FSP behind glass.
If the visitor is a spiritual advisor, he does have to call the Warden's office at FSP to arrange visits. Spiritual advisors get to visit only on the week days and an appointment is given to you by the warden's secretary. Be sure you make prior arrangements to be on the inmate's phone list. He will need to phone you collect, but will be able to phone social calls to you and his family
