Warden:
Joseph E. Thompson

Who, as of approx mid January of 2003, began his new role as "The First Black Warden at Florida State Prison", appointed by newly appointed Secretary of the whole DOC, Jimmy" Crosby!

JANUARY 23rd, 2003:
One of "JIMMY" CROSBY'S MANY CHANGES:

Warden Riska from Gainesville CI has been moved to Madison CI.

Warden Riska is taking over the Warden's position at Madison CI.
The memo on this change stated it was supposed to be "...immediately." Probably an untold story about that as well.

Concerned Moms Report:
Prisoners at Madison tried to peacefully protest the gnats in the food and other valid issues.
What happened?

Last August of 2000, the inmates had a quiet, NON-violent sit in to protest the gnats and flies being everywhere. They got tired of the gnats being in their food and nobody listened, so to protest this, they had a quiet sit in.

So the DOC sends all 134 to FSP and houses them in a condemned part of the building for 60 days. Then DOC shipped all 134 prisoners to different institutions.  These prisoners are still being punished for their effort to bring attention to the insect problem.  The prisons have placed them all in "close" management.  Families are still being punished too. Mother's report they can only see their sons for 2 hours, EVERY OTHER MONTH!

Regarding: MADISON PISS TESTS

"My fiancé was locked up at Madison CI,  Someone there overdosed on Heroin, and him, as well as 75 other inmates, were told to do a urine test. They refused due to the CO's not wanting to do the test in front of them, The officers wanted them to pee, test it and then "let them know the results".  The inmates all asked for a blood test (not trusting the CO's).  They were told, "This is not burger king - you don't get it your way here", and they all were put in confinement and transferred to other institutions. Now that my fiance is out of confinement they write him and tell him they have taken away 1 year visitation... I have looked all through Chapter 33 rules and can't find anywhere why he would lose 1 year visitation for this.

DOC Press Release of August 30, 2000

See how hard it is for the truth to come out?  The GREAT DOC speaks and people think they have the entire story.  When prisoners go to these lengths, knowing they cannot win against the all-powerful system, and may not survive the extremely sadistic punishments, someone should listen to what they have to say. It's probably very important. Part of the DOC's duty is to provide a safe, clean, and healthy environment for the people in its care.

Another point: Visits should not be a 'privilege', but a part of rehabilitation. And since when is anything okay if it punishes innocent family members too?
