Crossing the Khaki Line

The following is not an exchange, nor a dialog:  It is a lesson, an enlightenment.

A nervous but articulate 19-year veteran of the system, "DOC Officer",  states his thoughts and quickly withdraws, obviously in fear of exactly the kind of rabid response he gets 6 minutes later.

"Get Real" is a 'north Florida guard, one of the "good-ole boys" by his own admission.   Notice how he jumped in with a quick and personal vicious attack?

To an unprofessional person, the truth is to be avoided at all costs.  If intimidation doesn't shut  'DOC Officer' down, "Get Real and his buddies will call him a disgruntled employee, a liar.  "Get Real" didn't call "DOC Officer a liar, because he knows he's not lying, and that's exactly why "Get Real" needs to shut him up.

The 'RE:' at the bottom of  "Get Real"'s remarks might turn out to be very important if anything happens to "DOC Officer".  "Get Real" obviously knows exactly who he is.  It is a reality: Criminals in Authority really do abuse people who shake  their cushy corner of the world.

It's possible, watching the employee entries in the guestbook slow down, that Michael Moore has warned DOC personnel to stay out of there.  Which would suggest to me that he really doesn't care about truth.  Guess it would be too much work for him to clean up this mess!

Comments:
I'm not into all the name calling etc., so that is one reason my name and info does not appear. I also have a family to care for and signing my name or giving out my email address may subject me to all sorts of reprisal. See Kay, the prisoners aren't the only ones receive special treatment when you cross the line.

I must admit that Aramark is a total waste. Kay Lee I may not agree with everything you write but many times the things posted are true and on the money. I am united with your group in seeing the Bush burnt and MM run out of the state for starters.

I've worked at several prisons over the past 19 years and I know some of the prisoners who write and work with your group. Gary Waid, Lakeith Sharif, and Rev. George from UCI, and a few others have really caused a stir following their releases and between us I'm used to hearing regular conversations about these fellows of yours. That Lakeith was always in the midst of things and several of us knew he'd hold true to his word and come back to haunt the DOC upon his release.

I watched the news cast from your Orlando gig last year about the abuse of prisoners, and I admit that those things did and do still happen to this very day. This is why Bush and MM must go before things will start to improve.

Don't get me wrong, these sort of things happened before their arrival but things have gotten way out of control and I am often intervening in situations I see leading to such acts.

I've even written incident reports annomously, but nothing is has ever been done in all my 19 years in the DOC. So you see it's not that all CO's are bad, it's just that you have some bad people in the real decision making positions and they need to go. Did I say they need to GO enough for you to get my drift.

I have said more than I intended to so I must go. Good luck, but please stop sterotyping all DOC officers. There are some good apples in the bunch.

Comments: I know who this 19 year vet is and you are a real bitch and bleeding heart jerk who will someday get whats long overdue for you. Retire if you don't like the way us good-ole boys run our prison business in Florida, espically North Florida. You've been around too long pops, so do us all a favor and start collecting your check. Dont let the gate hit you where the dog shoulda bite you.

Ms Kay Lee:

It appears that even the guards are now having second thoughts. Some, like anonymous writer, either see the writing on the wall and is bailing out, or was one of a rare breed, a good Screw. Whatever his motivation, he appears to see the light, and has been moved to action, like another correction officer who resigned in protest over the Valdes murder.

The other Goon -- and the term is appropriate-- is scared and his response reflects his fear that the jig is getting huger, and that he will be held accountable. The use of scatological references that are poor rhetoric is a sign of mental constipation. Rather that recognize what your first correction officer did, this Goon is deep in a wonderland were the sadism prevails because it is so deeply entrenched, and they do not know how to deal with you, or the truth -- So they live in verbal swill, guzzle their beer and throw personal insults at you. This guard mentality is firmly set in the 1880s and at least in Florida won't change overnight.

A guard whistleblower should be encouraged; Every verbal threat should be met with forty letters of encouragement. His life is in danger, and he should get protection from "good convicts" inside, as well as in the world's eyes.

But remember that when the chips are down, the bad guys will be running their moths to rat on each other, and the charges will pile up like the offal in these bad guards' souls.

JB and MM will have their day with St Peter; I hope that they have parachutes and lots of Unguintine...
