FDOC WARDENS LISTS
Oct 2005: Wardens are changed frequently in the FDOC. This link brings up the most current list of Warden's and Administrator, although it's accuracy leaves a lot to be desired. It comes out every two months: http://www.fdle.state.fl.us/cjst/publications/AgencyAddresses/CorrectionLabels.pdf
For a past history of wardens lists they are archived on MTWT at

Navy Wants To Bomb More At Avon
Park
Plans call for using live bombs up to 2,000 pounds at the range.
930 inmates will be affected by Navy bombing practice near Avon Park CI in Florida. U.S. Rep. Adam Putnam and the Navy tells us "the fauna aren't bothered by noise... and the scrub jays know how to duck and cover", but apparently they have no thoughts or concerns about human prisoners' reactions. I guess the Navy as well as the FDOC believe inmates are lower than animals. I reckon they'll have a mighty big surprise when they get to the other side! Kay Lee

"At Avon Park they are hiring new people. Not only that, I was told, they are going to waist chains to move them from place to place now."
GOLD
STAR FOR VISITING PARK STAFF
"The people they had in the control room for visiting were very green they didn't know how to get the printer working and had to call for help two days running and did not know the computer operating system.. But they did get the job done and were very nice to me while I was there!
The officer on the Hand scan, Mr. Bond, was very helpful to me and let me take in my glucose tablets for my diabetes with out a scrip because I had my diabetes card with my doctor's name and phone number.. The officer they had on the gate on the 6th would not let me have them though, as he said they could be anything, since I didn't have a scrip for them they were not allowed, Thank God almost everything in the vending machines were not fit for a diabetic so when my blood sugar was to low I got me a sugar high out of them!!
The men and women that were working in the VP over the time that I was visiting were all very nice to everyone there and made the visit very easy for me, being a first time visitor, they were professional in their jobs and friendly to those they talked to.. Because of this I did not feel like I was in a prison and for that I am very thankful to all of them!"
Deserving Officer Nominated for MTWT Gold Star Award
Saturday, January 28, 2006Dear Kaylee:
At Avon Park there is an officer namedSgt. Owen who was extremely helpful, kind and understanding to the needs of both the inmate and their family when my husband was transferred there to the Avon Park Correctional Site. He has always treated each inmate and their family with dignity and respect and is a very deserving man of any recognition we could give him.
Thank you,
Bette S. Clark
