God's fatherly eyes are alert and watching,
His attentive ears are listening too.
He knows what's inside our hearts,
Whether we're sincere, honest and true.
God knows the fruit of our lips,
If it's sweet or bitter as gall.
He can't be fooled by vain words,
When on His name we call.
God knows our phony excuses.
He's heard them time and again.
To us they're just little white lies,
But to Him it's plain out sin!
God yearns for our reverent respect.
He wants our godly fear.
He desires to grant us eternal life,
But we must obey while living here.
