The Girl From Ipanema

Here is our "Unplugged" arrangement of Antonio Carlos Jobim's Bossa Nova classic The Girl From Ipanema. The song is played in a moderate 4/4 Bossa Nova tempo. The original is essentially a piano tune. Bossa Nova is a musical style that originated in the late 1950s in Brazil which fused the Samba with jazz elements. The most interesting substitutions are the "C#m9" for the "E6/9" chord and the "A13" for the "F#13" chord. You can vamp on the C#m9 chord until you're ready to start. The chord fingerings I use are shown below followed by the A and B section chord progressions.
