The Meadow

The day could not have been more picture perfect. The sun was a dazzling yellow set against the pale blue sky. The weather was cool yet the rays of the sun warmed the chill away. The clouds seemed to bunch up one against the other like a pile of cotton ready to be milled. Yes, it was a beautiful day.

I could tell by the look in his eye that he was thinking the same as I. It was too nice to stay indoors. Packing up a small basket with a few essentials, we were on our way to our secret place.

It didnt take long to get there. It as only a short drive up the interstate but it was a secluded place and I believe no one knows of it but us. We pulled off the main road and drove for about 10 min till we came to that old dirt road. It was a narrow one lane that winds into the trees. Not a large forrest but enough green to make it the perfect retreat from the outside world. We pulled off to one side and got out of the car grabbing the basket and an old quilt. We knew the way. The same pewter colored rock that had probably been there for hundreds of years marked the path we took. We could hear the sound of the nearby brook as its waters splashed the rocks that dotted its flow. The trees made it seem even cooler and the sun twinkled through the waving leaves. The clearing was just ahead and I could smell the fresh fragrance of the wildflowers in the meadow.

We stopped for a moment at the break in the trees. The meadow was beautiful at this time of year. Yellow and purplish-pink flowers graced the area for what seemed like miles. Green leaves swayed in the breezes as butterflies danced along their tops. Insects moved from flower to flower tasting the sweet nector. There was quiet. Only the sound of nature to set the mood.

We ventured out into this paradise. The grasses sweeped us at about waist length. Letting go of his hand, I ran ahead frolicking in the flowers like a small child trying to catch the first butterflies of spring. I looked back and he shook his head laughing at my antics while he spread out the quilt. I quickly came back to join him and as I sat down, I recalled our first time there. It was a day much like today. We stumbled upon this place quite by accident. I remembered just how it all looked. The picture was that clear in my mind, beautiful, like it is now.

We opened the basket and feasted on small delights. Some cheese and crackers, grapes and cut-up veggies, a few pieces of left over cake that we had the night before. From the bottom of the basket he took out the bottle of red wine and two stemmed glasses. A little bit of elegance I thought to myself. After we made a toast to this wonderful day, he reached over and took the glass from my hand. Pulling me closer to him, he set his glass down and laid back on the quilt. I snuggled up close to him and we watched the clouds move across the sky above us. The wildflowers surrounded us in our own little nature world. We laughed and giggled like school children as we made names for all the shapes of the clouds.

He turned on his side and looked straight into my eyes. His fingers danced on my cheek and slowly he leaned over soflty kissing me. I closed my eyes as his lips met mine once again. I could taste the sweetness of everything I loved about him in that one kiss. I still feel the same tingles running through my body as I did that very first day we made love at this very same place, on this very same quilt, not so long ago. The soft cooling breeze chilled the wetness of his kisses as he trailed them along my neck. His figertips graced my body as his kisses followed around to my earlobe. He knew exactly the points of pleasure that sent me over the edge. The smile on my face told him so as my body quivered with each and every touch. Excitement leaped from deep inside me as he kissed me long and hard, our tongues intertwined in a sweet embrace. I was lost in him and he in I.

Delicately he undid each button on my top one by one kissing each place he exposed. Slowly he ran his tongue down to my breast as his finger slipped inside along the lace of my bra. My fingertips combed through his hair and I kissed his head as his hand cupped my breast removing it from it's safe place. I felt the rush of excitment tingle through my body when his tongue danced upon my nipple. Running my hands along his neck I knew, too, his most sensitive places. It only encouraged him to take me more.

I rolled him over to his back and pulled his shirt over his head. Kissing his neck first, I then made my way to his earlobe. He lay there smiling and his happiness is all I cared about. I wanted him to feel as good as he makes me feel. I whispered in his ear "I love you" as my hand found its way down between his legs. I rubbed my hands over him as I layered kisses down along his chest. I found his nipple and played on him as he did me. His body trembled with each and every taste. I trailed to his tummy and by now my hands had undid his belt and unzipped his jeans. I could feel him press hard against me as my leg draped over his. It wasnt long before he could resist any longer and his hands roamed over my body undoing my bra all the way. We were now skin to skin and as our passions warmed us like the sun, the soft winds blowing cooled our wetness. I ran my fingertips along the edge of his underwear as I continued to kiss his tummy. I felt his hardness and he pressed himself against my hand. I pushed his pants down and he was eager to kick them off and at the same time he undressed me the rest of the way. There we were like Adam and Eve in this beautiful paradise.

I wrapped my body and around his as we joined as one. Our passionate love-making was only enhanced by the place we were. It was as if nature was in tune with us as we were with each other. All the meadow seemed to applaud but it was really the two of us. alone, together. The soft kisses and the tender touches were only a prelude to what was to come. He looked deeply into my eyes as I felt him reach my soul. Together we moved in unison as we played our symphony for nature. All at once our cries of joy echoed throughout our specail place. Our bodies shook with each and every wave of pleasure. Holding each other close, our hearts beating and the most delicate of kisses to each other, seemed to be all that was left when time stopped for that moement. His hand stoked my long hair and my fingettips played softly on his back. I felt as safe as I could be not wanting to ever leave this place. I was like the butterfly waiting to emerge from my cocoon and this beautiful man of mine had set my soul free. He had my heart forever. As we lay there watching the clouds pass over us, I thought of how this special love had come to me like a wildflower floating on the breeze and I thanked God for allowing this love to be.
