Dream....

......she found herself in some deep woods. Wandering around, she wasnt quite sure of her whereabouts. It was early morning, or so it seemed, since the sun was not high up in the sky. A few sunstrokes filtered through the trees. She was still wearing the pink gown, but the hem was quite dirty from her venture down the path. She wasnt sure where she was headed nonetheless she kept on walking. The graasy moss felt cool on her bare feet. It was very quiet and all that could be heard was the singing of a few birds and the scurrying of a few animals in the brush. It was nice..peaceful. She came upon a log and settled down to rest a bit. Over to her left there was a clearing and she thought she would now head in that direction. Lifting up her gown, she proceded to the sunlight patch. As she approaced the end of the woods, she could feel the heat of the morning sun on her face. The coolness of the forest has sheilded her so far. It was a tall grassy sort of meadow with a few wildflowers scattered here and there. Randomly they swayed by the slight breezes swimming in the air. She was not sure what was ahead, but now the sun was beating heavily on her and all she wanted to do was to get to the other side. She could see more dense forest ahead. Feeling quite warm, she longed for something to drink. But there was nothing. Her feet now tired from their journey begged for rest. But surely, if she stayed there, she would cook in the midday sun. Some the dry grasses scraped her legs as she walked. Now she wished she had stayed in the woods rather than venturing in the unknown. She was getting more and more tired. The heat weighed her down, but the next edge of the forest seemed so far away and when she looked behind her, it too, was just as far. It was too late to turn back. She had to continue on. Maybe I should rest for just one moment, she thought. She sat amongst some flowers and they towered above her. They were beautiful. It was sort of cooling...the shade from the yellow blossoms. She laid beneath them and the ground was cool. She closed her eyes for only a moment....................Suddenly she felt cold. Freezing. It was dark now. The stars were few above her and she had no light to see where to go next. The darkness did not make her afraid. It was the unknown that frightened her. She could hear strange sounds but maybe it was only the wind. She was unsure. She was alone. Not knowing which way to turn she decided to stay put till morning. She curled up under the same flowers that gave her pleasure earlier that day and pulled some dried-up grass over her to keep warm. She didnt realize it got this cold out here too. Would she last till morning? She wasnt sure. She could not sleep. The ground was damp now and that made her feel even colder. She took the edge of her gown in her hand and began to whimper. It would not do any good, but it made her feel better to let it go. She was alone...afraid...and she hoped for something........
