I, Horace Lee Hankerson, # 708462, do hereby make the following statements of my own free will and aver:

I am subject to reprisal as long as I'm here. Request for investigation.

I am being neglected by retaliation reprisal by Calhoun C. I. administrative officials. The neglectful treatment first occurred on August 12, 2002 when Sergeant Whitfield moved me into H-1201 U with a homosexual in that room, knowing that I was just transferred from Jackson C. I.  for defending myself from 2 homosexuals trying to injure me.

On August 19th,  2002, I was placed under investigation due to my grievances of threat, harassment, and an email sent to Calhoun C. I. ------the email and grievance was a complaint on Sergeant Whitfield and C.O. Reed.

On Sept 6, 2002, I was let out of confinement and put right back in H1201U with my homosexual roommate, Stanley  G. Parker . We got into it on Sept, 17, 2002.  No official or staff  would respond to my plea for help.

On October 25, 2002 I was placed into A/C confinement due to my roommate dropping a death threat request in the box with no name on it, stating that I am in danger of my life. That is what I was told by officials.

Now I am being confined when this could have been avoided. 

This neglectful treatment is retaliation by Calhoun C. I.  for placing me in H1201U  twice.  This also is a form of reprisal and harassment by Warden J. Rabion, Asst. Wardens Boyd & Peacock, Lt. Williams,Colonel Carr, Sgt. Whitfield, and Inspector White for me writing grievances.

Under penalties of perjury, I declare that I have read the foregoing sworn statements and that the facts stated in it are true.

I am bypassing Calhoun C.I. Institutional Level due to the sensitive nature of retaliation and reprisal by Warden Jerry Rabion, Asst. Wardens Henry Boyd, and James Peacock, Colonel Carr, Inspector White, Lt. Williams, and Sergeant Whitfield. This administrative team has allowed each other a part in negligent & neglectful treatment that has led to retaliation & reprisal. I am constantly being placed under investigation . But the truth being confirmed is covered up by Lt. Williams, Colonel B. Carr, J. Rabion, Henry Boyd, James Peacock, Sgt Whitfield, and Inspector White. (SEE  AFFIDAVIT AND FORMAL COMPLAINT). My life is in danger upon this administrative gang.

Dear Ms. Kay Lee

I am a fellow soldier in the struggle, though we have never met. You may have heard of me as FDOC #1 Enemy fighting against the massive crime, corruption, abuse of authority, murder of prisoners, assault/battery of prisoners by "correctional officers", the victimization of prisoners by "correctional officers", etc etc. The list is endless as to what goes on behind FDOC prison walls.

My purpose of writing is to inform you about Horace Hankerson, Calhoun CI, as he and I just met (10-17-02). He and I instantly became close brothers and of course he informed me about you and your (our) organization, that I admire because all of us are on the same page!

In case you are not aware, Horace got locked up Friday Oct. 25th, 2002 at approximately 9am, from out of open population and he is in Administrative Confinement (A/C) at Calhoun CI, as far as I know. If I read his signal right (as he was being taken in) it was oer a "kite" (written note to the administration).

You need to call and find out what's up, because 'confinement' - for a person like he and I - can be a death chamber! Because that is where 'correctional officers' do all of their dirt (beatings/killings, etc) of litigators like Horace and I. Believe me, I know!!!

I am not crying wolf, but am merely letting you know Horace's situation because I care, and am concerned...

Mr. Moore,

I need to get someone to help and investigate some of the problems at Calhoun C.I.

My mail was stopped by someone at Calhoun C. I. But it's not just my mail!! I have been corresponding with Horace Hankerson , # 708462,  through another friend of mine on the outside. This should NOT have to be done! Tampering with the mail is a FEDERAL OFFENSE!!

I tried to get help from many people of your "department",  back in August of 2002. But only 1 person responded and he/she was unable to help.  I will not name that person.

Since Calhoun CI, does NOT respond to emails, concerns,  OR public record requests,  I contacted Inspector Eddie White at Calhoun about 2 weeks ago, via the telephone.  He promised me that he would make sure Horace Hankerson's mail went out. We even agreed on a date that I should receive a letter, which was Veteran's Day. I guess we both forgot about November 11th being a Holiday, so I waited until the next day. No mail ever came.

So, I did what I told Inspector White I would do. I contacted Schuknecht's office yesterday on Nov 12 th, and they referred me to Donna Hoffman, Inspector of Region I.

I spoke with Ms. Hoffman and she admitted she did not receive many complaints about Calhoun C. I.  I reminded her that was the MAIN purpose for this telephone call. The reason Tallahassee doesn't receive many complaints, if any, about Calhoun, is because SOMEONE TAMPERS WITH THE MAIL, along with the grievances!!

Seems Ms. Hoffman was wanting more details. I will provide those as soon as I can type it all up! That will be Part 2 , (the affidavit) sworn statement, and part 3 will be the formal complaint which both provide the details.

I also informed Ms. Hoffman that when one is put in CONFINEMENT, especially for writing grievances , should be cause for concern, but she wanted more details.

I told her I was concerned because Frank Valdes was in confinement TRYING to get the word out that his life was in danger, and we both know what happened to him, and then there was Archie Davis that "died" in confinement this year at Wakulla, and the truth will eventually be known about that, too.

In the meantime, I received the following today, through a friend on the OUTSIDE, ,as Calhoun will NOT allow my mail from Horace to me to get out, as Calhoun KNOWS I will tell all!!

SO, please read the following -----------

REQUEST FOR ADMINISTRATIVE REMEDY AND A SWORN STATEMENT WILL BE SENT TO MICHAEL MOORE, CERTIFIED MAIL - THIS IS NOT BEING SENT TO CALHOUN for obvious reasons!!

PLEASE INVESTIGATE!!

P.S. -There are AT LEAST 38 other inmates that will testify to all the abuse at Calhoun.
