I joined the Army when i was 19. Basic training and AIT was at Fort Knox. That is where i became a 19e. Tankcrewman on the M60A3. A true dinosaur. The things were some 12 feet tall or so. Top speed was about 30 -35 mph. Although downhill was faster, tended to lose trackpads that way though. I was stationed in Mannheim Germany. Coleman Kassern. I was only there for 2 years, back when they allowed that kind of thing. Nowdays its a minimum of 4 years active i think. Anyway, it was fun but i am glad i got out. I did get a few stupid army stories out of it. The Dumpster story is a prime example of what the army is all about.
