HISTORY OF ALPHA GAMMA

The Alpha Gamma Chapter of Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was organized April 8, 1967, in Miami, Florida by twenty-eight women who felt the need of closer fellowship among women in the community with business and professional degrees.

It was the desire of this magnificent group of women to seek ways and means of obtaining, for women, the highest standards in all business and professional fields and to implement this goal through the establishment of a scholarship fund, working cooperatively with kindred organizations and contributing to worthwhile community endeavors.

In keeping with the aims and objectives of Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., our ideals have successfully impacted the enhancement of our community, especially through the establishment of three auxiliaries:

SHAD Club #25 - re-activated in 1992, it is comprised of husbands of active members of Alpha Gamma.

Bee-Ettes - Created in 1979, they are a group comprised of seventh grade young ladies. The Bee-Ettes work directly with the members of Alpha Gamma as they aspire to "be all (that) they can be."

Senords - Created in 1992, they are comprised of seventh grade young men. SHAD Club #25 facilitates the Senords through a "hands-on" approach.
