Mr. Martins began his ballet training at age 7 at The Royal Danish Ballet School in Denmark. In 1984, he entered the School of American Ballet. In June, 1986, he became an apprentice with the company, and in September 1986 joined the company in the corps de ballet. In the spring of 1991 he was promoted to soloist, and in February 1993, he was promoted to the rank of Principal.
