Hurricane Frances Strikes Central Florida,
September 5th 6th and 7th.
What follows are pictures of before, during and after, of our home and the destruction that followed her visit..

Charley's Powerful Eye.. Have I mentioned how much I hate hurricanes? Because if I haven't beleive me when I say they suck more then smelly feet.
Here it comes... Another one... We were just struck by Hurricane Charlie 21 days ago... Now another one...
Hurricane Frances, Passes right over Lakeland. We received the worst of the storm. It rained straight for 36 hours, Sustained winds were 95 MPH with gusts of 115+
I was standing in our screen room, when I snapped this shot.. It is pitch black outside, and Hurricane Frances is still 4 hours away. This is going to be bad...You can just make out our trees.

The winds are picking up... There is no stopping Hurricane Frances now. She's coming.

The rains came first, it is a little lighter now, already our backyard is starting to fill with water, the hurricane is 3 1/2 hours away. I was standing in the same spot as the above picture.
View from our front yard. It is 11:00 in the morning, Hurricane Frances is closing in on us..

Another view of our front yard and our light pole.. The rains have gotten much stronger, as have the winds. It is very dark...
Dave's Trooper, it's about 11:45 in the morning, It is so dark, it's errie. The devil is riding on the back of this Hurricane.

Rising surf
Houseboat going down.

We are prepaired , the sandbags are like sentinals waiting to save our home from flood waters.
That's our Local news reporter getting hit by high winds and rains.

Another reporter, getting hit with debris

Hurricane Frances... The destruction she has left behind.
Reporter unable to stand during the winds of Hurricane Frances.

The aftermath of Hurricane France's fury.
Our garage... Sandbags are crap, if you are ever told to use sandbags, laugh at whoever says that, they don't work

Hurricane Frances... Notice the powerful eye...This shot was taken from NASA.
We get hunkered down... The winds were hitting us from 95 gusting to 115 miles per hour, we could hear the trees falling outside... The rains were battering the house and windows...The thunder and lightening were magnificently powerful... Here she comes....We are as ready as we're going to be...
Our dryer and water heater, the flood waters are rising.

The front our our house.
That's our air conditioner, or it was....

Looking outside....
The water just keeps rising.
