CABLE LAYING TRAIN
GEORGIA DIVISION
ASHBURN
Weekend before Christmas 2000.

Slow start on Saturday, as the fog of a typical winter morning in central Georgia blankets the area. The power consists of 2 GP38 AC from NS, the cable laying machine, MESX 1996, the flat cars with the reels and a tool box car. To my biggest disappointment, they are not using a caboose. In the background, a pair of GP38AC from LLPX in the UP scheme are being sent away.
Despite the bad weather, I proceed to Cordele for a day by the diamond. 16 trains later, the sky clears up, so I stop by the siding, again, to take so more photos.
