Unknown Creature

June 2000
Sorry, try as I might, I just couldn't get a better snap then this. It's at the back of the tank. The water movement just keeps getting in the way. When I move it I will post a better picture of it.

Unknown Creature

  • This little guy was on some live rock we purchased last year when we set up the tank. He was approximately 1/2" long and about 1/8" wide. We set him in the crevice of a rock and kept an eye on him so he didn't get lost. When we found him he was a bright green color. As you can see he is now a brownish red. He is now one year old and about 2" in diameter. We don't know what he is but assume him to be some type of mushroom anenome. He doesn't seem to catch food or close when food lands on him. I therefore assume that he is photosynthetic. He's my favorite tank inhabitant because he's gone through so much to remain alive.
