WARNING: GRAPHICS HEAVY-PLEASE BE PATIENT

Non-Pulsing Xenia or Snow Flake Xenia

June 2000
Sorry, try as I might, I just couldn't get a better snap then this. It's at the back of the tank. The water movement just keeps getting in the way. When I move it I will post a better picture of it.

Non-Pulsing Xenia or Snow Flake Xenia

  • I have found this easy to keep and mulitiply. We started with a 1" clump. You can see from the photo that it has spread quite a bit.
  • They are photosynthetic and may absorb nutrients out of the water column in the tank.
  • Feeding is not necessary as they do not eat particulate matter.
  • Non-Pulsing Xenia require high Ph levels and iodine to remain healthy.
  • This type needs a good bit of current for good health.
