God Bless AMERICA !

Home of the "EAGLES"

Especially so at this time, our thoughts and prayers are with our soldiers serving our great country's armed forces, our fire and police departments, as well as the emergency medical personnel -- THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMITTMENT, COURAGE AND DEDICATION ! Also, let's never forget the veterans of all past wars and conflicts who are immensely responsible for the wonderful and free society in which we live -- God bless each and every one of you, as well as your families and friends, for the sacrifices you make/made. We can never THANK YOU enough.

Look back, move forward, and NEVER, EVER forget !

I want to wish all of my students, their families, and friends a very happy and safe holiday season; enjoy, and be safe ! If you are traveling, I hope you have a safe trip; I look forward to seeing you upon your safe and healthy return, on Monday, Jan. 7.

NOTE: Parent(s) and Guardian(s) -- On Thursday, September 11, and Friday, September 12, I will be showing a video, titled "9/11". I require a signed permission slip from you allowing your child to view this video because of its graphic nature and some inappropriate language. In advance, I thank you for your cooperation and continued support.

I sincerely am looking forward to a very productive school year with each and every one of you, and the emphasis on your academic progress and growth. NOTE: Parent(s) or Guardian(s), THANK YOU for your patience while the Web Page becomes fully operational and up-to-date. PLEASE utilize it, along with your child -- it will truly help to facilitate your child's academic growth, which is my primary and utmost goal ! :)

Parent(s) or Guardian(s): I have added the "Weather Channel" link to the website so you can advise your child on how he/she can dress appropriately for the next school day; just "click" on the weather "link" to see the 7-day forecast(enter your Zip Code); the current day's weather conditions are shown below), then return(Go Back) to the main page where you can "link" to the page(s) in which you are interested.

Enter a City or US Zip:

Parent(s) and Guardian(s): I URGE YOU to ensure that your child is REVIEWING ALL notes, assgn.'s, AND vocab. for the Math curriculum that is being administered in my class. As I have so frequently taught my students, the better prepared for something you are, the more satisfying the results will be -- Determination breeds success !, whether it be the F.C.A.T. evaluations or studying for a vocab. quiz. Also, try to ensure that your child is well-rested and has had something to eat before arriving for class. Finally, ENCOURAGE your child, because your approval often means more than you think to her or him.

NOTE: Important upcoming date(s) :

(1) Mon., Aug. 18 -- FIRST day of school for students

(2) Thurs., Jan. 17 -- Early-Release day (1:05 dismissal)

(3) Fri., Jan. 18 -- Teacher-Planning day -- NO SCHOOL

(4) Mon., Jan. 21 -- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday -- NO school

(5) Tues., Jan. 22 -- Teacher-Planning day -- NO SCHOOL

Students, Parent(s), and Guardian(s): Discuss your child's grades with her/him and, if need be, how to improve their academic achievement; please ensure that your child is motivated to commence the school year on a positive, self-motivated effort. Emphasize the importance of his/her education by discussing the relevance of PREPARATION and STUDYING(also, PRACTICING some prob.'s) on a daily (20 - 30 minutes, minimum) basis.

Parents and guardians, I URGE YOU to ENSURE that your child is completing all homework assgn.'s, both because of how it reinforces what is being taught in the classroom, as well as the fact that it comprises 20% of your child's overall grade. EVERY homework assignment must include: (1) the teacher-specified heading, and (2) work shown for each applicable prob., INCLUDING checking ALL prob.'s for correctness. IF ALL of these procedures ARE NOT followed, the student will earn a grade of 0(zero) for the HW assgn.(s).

Parent(s) and Guardian(s): Please ask to see your child's Quizzes and Tests so you can be kept abreast of your child's academic progress, as well as any area in which he/she may be experiencing some difficulty -- the biggest impediment to your child's academic progress most likely is the same reason he/she has given to me, which is "I didn't study". Do everything in your power to ensure that your child IS STUDYING/PRACTICING PROB.'S on a daily basis !
Parent(s) and Guardian(s): If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's academic progress, you can call me at school or home, or you can e-mail me through my Web site. I look forward to working cooperatively with you to assist your child in attaining his/her academic goals. Also, please discuss your child's grades(academic, behavioral, and effort) with him/her

Don't fall behind on your assignments...Instead, GET AHEAD!!! Remember, it's one thing to have a good mind, but it's a totally different thing to use it to the best of your ability. SUCCESS means doing YOUR BEST, not being the best !

Parent(s) or Guardian(s): Please assist both your child and myself by asking to see his/her daily classnotes; this will assist your child in reinforcing what is being taught in the classroom, as well as to keep you up-to-date regarding your child's academic growth. Please ensure that he/she reviews all assgn.'s, on a daily basis, so that the amount of time spent on reviewing for tests and quizzes is kept to a minimum, allowing us to move forward towards our overall goal -- preparing your child as best as possible for next year's curriculum.

In advance, thank you for your cooperation and assistance in this matter.

    • NOTE:Please do everything in your power to encourage your child to focus, pay attention, take notes and review each day's assgn.'s for a minimum of 20-30 minutes. Your child's success is an ongoing journey, and this year's destination will not be arrived at until Thursday, May 31, 2006. Remember, the efforts of all those involved will only help to contribute to your child's overall academic achievement, which is my sincere and committed goal and objective.
