A Truckers Life

He's drivin down the highway

pushin to get home today

and doin all he can

cuz he just wants to get the job done

He's got a woman waitin patiently

he knows she can't wait to see

that man who's been gone so long away from his family

He's got his

18 wheels

& a dozen roses

he's goin home

from his long haul run

He's been runnin hard, all across the open roads

he's been spendin his life to keep america goin on

He stops at every truck stop

to let her know he's made another drop

and he's always thinkin of her

just to keep his spirits up

he says , "yes, you know I love you too",

and "I can't wait to get home it's true"

just one more stop

and I'm bound to make it home tonight

cuz I've got

18 wheels

& a dozen roses

just for you,

when my day is done

just a few more miles

and I'll be home tonight

cuz I can't wait to get home to the one that I love

Sometimes it hard to be a woman with a man who's out on the road, but it's just as hard for him to be away as much as it is for you. So all you can do is stand beside him and let him know you are his strength when he needs to be reassured that it is all worth the effort. You just gotta love him. Cuz he's spendin his life with the one that he loves.
