The JWL [Episode 39]

Live from the Mellon Arena, Pittsburgh, PA

You know the drill.

JR and Tenay welcome us to the show and mention that the new troubleshooting commissioner will debut tonight.

Dusty Rhodes and the Nasty Boys accost Kevin Kelly backstage.

DUSTY: "Tonight, mah Boys are gonna get the plunda, go for the coup de gray and leave dem boys in the ring flubbagasted, Ah guarantee it."

KNOBBS: "WE ARE GOING TO BEAT THE HELL OUT OF THE TWO IDIOTS IN THE RING AND WE'RE GOING TO WIN AND THEY'RE NOT GOING TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED! BY THE WAY, DANGEROUS ALLIANCE, BY THREATENING THE DREAM TEAM, YOU IDIOTS MADE A MISTAKE YOU'LL REGRET FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIVES!"

Knobbs then gives Kelly the Pitstop (armpit to the face).

Opening match: The Nasty Boys (w/"The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes) vs. Evan Karagias and Chaz

LG: "The following tag team contest is scheduled for one fall. In the ring at this time, first, from Gastonia, NC, weighing in at 180 lbs., EVAN KARAGIAS! And from Mt. Laurel, NJ, weighing in at 243 lbs., CHAZ!

("Nasty Boys Stomp" plays)

LG: "And their opponents, being led to the ring by 'The American Dream' Dusty Rhodes and representing Dusty's Dream Team, from Allentown, PA, weighing in at a total combined weight of 610 lbs., JERRY SAGS AND BRIAN KNOBBS, THE NASTY BOYS!"

Crowd boos.

Easy squash for the Nasties, leading up to the Pitstop Elbow for the pin.

LG: "Here are your winners, THE NASTY BOYS!"

Knobbs grabs the mic, but is interrupted by a Dangerous Alliance promo.

PAUL E.: "JWL, next week, the war between the Dangerous Alliance and Dusty's Dream Team begins when the Dangerous Alliance debuts. With my genius, Brock Lesnar, the World's Greatest Tag Team and 911 will destroy everything in their path and conquer the JWL. The JWL is going to get a lot more DANGEROUS".

THE DANGEROUS ALLIANCE

COMING NEXT WEEK

(Jazz video package)

Jazz vs. Christy Hemme

LG: "The following women's contest is scheduled for one fall. In the ring at this time, from Los Angeles, CA, CHRISTY HEMME!"

("The Baddest Chick" by Trina plays)

Crowd cheers.

LG: "And her opponent, representing the Hardcore Alliance, from New Orleans, LA, 'THE FEMALE FIGHTING PHENOM' JAZZ!"

Jazz annihilates her useless opponent with ease and finishes with the STF after 2:30 of absolute brutality.

LG: "Here is your winner, JAZZ!"

Joey Styles is in the ring.

JOEY: "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, 'BIG POPPA PUMP' SCOTT STEINER!"

(Steiner's music plays)

Crowd boos.

Scott comes to the ring and grabs the mic.

STEINER: "CHRIS BENOIT! Big Poppa Pump is sick and tired of being ignored! I'm calling your ass out because Freakzilla wants his title shot! You can not beat the Genetic Freak, the man with the largest arms in the world! I don't care about nothing but my freaks, my peaks and the JWL World Heavyweight Title! So for all my freaks out there, Big Poppa Pump is your hookup! Holla if you hear me!

("Rabid" plays)

BENOIT: "Steiner, you get your shot tonight! I'm keeping the belt and you will not PROVE ME WRONG!"

Crowd pops.

(Video package covering the feud between the Four Horsemen and Stratusfaction Inc.)

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair (w/"The Horny Little She-Devil" Terri Runnels) vs. Lance Storm (w/Trish Stratus)

LG: The following contest is scheduled for one fall.

("O Canada" plays)

LG: "Introducing first, being led to the ring by Trish Stratus and representing Stratusfaction Inc., from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, weighing in at 232 lbs., LANCE STORM!"

Crowd boos.

Lance takes the mic, gets serious for a minute, says his usual Canada vs. US stuff, and hands the mic back to Lillian.

("Also Sprach Zarathustra" plays)

Crowd pops big time.

LG: "And his opponent, being led to the ring by 'The Horny Little She-Devil' Terri Runnels and representing the Four Horsemen, from Charlotte, NC, weighing in at 243 lbs., 'THE NATURE BOY' RIC FLAIR!"

Crowd cheers and many people are raising the four fingers.

Flair and Lance have a good, well-worked match filled with great scientific wrestling from both guys, as would be expected. Flair asks referee Chad Patton for the time and low blows Lance when Patton turns around. This angers Trish, who runs around the ring for the obligatory catfight. Refs break up the fight. Patton turns around to see Flair lock on the figure-four and Lance taps out at 7:30.

LG: "Here is your winner, 'THE NATURE BOY' RIC FLAIR!"

Flair gets no chance to celebrate, though, as SHANE DOUGLAS runs to the ring and attacks Flair. Shane takes Flair down and pounds away at him. Refs and security pull Shane off of Flair.

Storm recovers and heads to the back, but the JWL World Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko from the Four Horsemen run out and beat him down, just for fun. Shane looks to leave, but the refs and security won't let Shane go back for some reason, and tell him to get back in the ring. One of the security guys hands a note to Lillian.

LG: "Ladies and gentlemen, I have just been informed that the time has come for me to introduce the new troubleshooting commissioner. Please welcome....

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

MICK FOLEY!"

"Wreck" plays, and the crowd pops huge as Foley walks towards the ring. Shane has a nervous look on his face, as he isn't sure what to expect from his former friend.

Foley takes a mic.

MICK: "Shane, just relax, I'll get to you in a minute. First of all, let me say that I am very happy to be the new Commissioner and to hopefully do my best to maintain law and order here. I am also very happy to be debuting in the city where I trained for wrestling, RIGHT HERE, IN PITTSBURGH, PA! (Thumbs up, cheap pop.) My first order of business, is dealing with the fact that a masked maniac who calls himself the Stranger has been attacking Shawn Michaels from out of nowhere two weeks in a row. Shawn is resting at home in San Antonio after being burnt and stabbed by the Stranger last week and, although we've had our differences in the past, I do hope he's able to recover quickly so he can get back in the ring. I know that a lot of people in the JWL have problems with Shawn Michaels or had problems with him in the past, and that's why I wanted you to stay here Shane. Now, before I came out here, I was informed that the Stranger has signed a contract to wrestle here in the JWL. There are some people I'd like to talk to right now. So, would Bret Hart and all seven members of the Shooters please come to the ring?"

("Hitman" plays, bringing out Bret.)

(Bigelow's music plays, bringing out the Shooters- Bam Bam Bigelow, Big Van Vader, Ken Shamrock, Norman Smiley, Al Snow, Steve Blackman and Little Guido Maritato.)

Everyone enters the ring.

MICK: "Since all of you are here, you probably know why I called the eight of you out. I want to know if any of you know who the Stranger is or even if any of you are the Stranger or have any connection to him at all."

SHANE: "Look, Mick, I am too busy trying to destroy the Dungeon of Doom and Ric Flair to bother with Shawn Michaels right now. I don't know who he is. He has no connection to the Franchise Foundation."

BRET (rolling his eyes, looking exasperated): "How many times do I have to tell you all that I have put all that behind me? I am not the Stranger. I don't know who he is either. I am in High Standards and once we finally take care of the Misfits, I am setting my sights on Chris Benoit and the JWL World Heavyweight Title."

BIGELOW: "I don't know who the Stranger is either, Mick. While all of the Shooters agree with the goal of destroying Shawn Michaels, he is not one of us."

MICK: "OK, right now I am going to have to believe you all since I don't have any way to tie any of you to the Stranger's actions. So, enjoy the rest of the show, everybody. Have a nice day!"

Special Attraction: Randy Orton vs. ???

LG: "The following special attraction match is scheduled for one fall. In the ring at this time, from St. Louis, MO, weighing in at 265 lbs., RANDY ORTON!"

LG: "And his opponent,

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

("Snake Bit" plays!)

LG: "Being accompanied to the ring by Damien, from Stone Mountain, GA, weighing in at 252 lbs., JAKE 'THE SNAKE' ROBERTS!"

Crowd pops big for Jake.

Jake seems reenergized being back in the ring and squashes Orton with ease, finishing with the short-arm clothesline and the DDT in 1:05.

LG: "Here is your winner, JAKE 'THE SNAKE' ROBERTS!"

Jake celebrates his win and then goes to the bag and unleashes Damien on the hapless Orton to a huge pop from the crowd.

(Commercials)

We come back to see Mikey Whipwreck and Diamond Dallas Page brawling in the back. Refs and security pull them apart, and Commissioner Foley sets up an anything-goes match between them for the next show.

(Video package covering the feud between the Shooters and the Clique)

"The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman vs. X-Pac

LG: "The following contest is scheduled for one fall."

("Break It Down" plays)

LG: "Introducing first, representing the Clique, from Minneapolis, MN, weighing in at 212 lbs., X-PAC!"

Crowd boos and chant "X-Pac sucks! X-Pac sucks!"

("Lethal Weapon" by Ice-T plays)

Crowd cheers.

LG: "And his opponent, representing the Shooters, from Annville, PA, weighing in at 245 lbs., 'THE LETHAL WEAPON' STEVE BLACKMAN!"

Blackman controls to start, though X-Pac’s kicks turn the match to his favor. We go back and forth between Blackman’s martial arts and technical skills and X-Pac’s relentless cheating. Meanwhile, the Stranger has made his way to ringside. X-Pac gets nervous, having seen what the Stranger has done to Shawn Michaels over the past two weeks. Blackman comes back, but X-Pac low-blows him and hits the X-Factor for the pin at 6:30.

LG: "Here is your winner, X-PAC!"

Crowd boos.

The Stranger attacks and lays out X-Pac with a piledriver and....

.

.

CUTS X-PAC'S HAIR! HHH and the New Age Outlaws make the save, with HHH issuing a challenge to the Stranger for a match on next week's show. The Stranger accepts. JR points out that this will be the Stranger's first match in the JWL.

(New Jack video package)

"The Original Gangsta" New Jack and Little Spike Dudley vs. Aldo Montoya and Kwang

LG: "The following hardcore tag team contest is scheduled for one fall. In the ring at this time, first, from Lisbon, Portugal, weighing in at 230 lbs., ALDO MONTOYA! And his partner, from Osaka, Japan, weighing in at 180 lbs., KWANG!"

("Natural Born Killaz" plays)

AND HERE COMES NEW JACK!

New Jack and Spike run to the ring with the garbage can of plunder. They squash the masked jobbers with ease, leaving them both bloody messes. Spike hits Kwang with the Acid Drop and New Jack hits the 187 (flying chairshot) on Aldo for the pin.

LG: "Here are your winners, NEW JACK AND SPIKE DUDLEY!"

Kwang and Montoya both do stretcher jobs.

(Chris Benoit video package)

(Scott Steiner video package)

Main Event, JWL World Heavyweight Title: "The Crippler" Chris Benoit © vs. "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner

LG: "The following contest is the main event. It is for the JWL World Heavyweight Championship and is scheduled for one fall."

(Steiner's music plays)

LG: "Introducing first, the challenger. Representing the Franchise Foundation, from Bay City, MI, weighing in at 270 lbs., 'BIG POPPA PUMP' SCOTT STEINER!"

Crowd boos.

("Rabid" plays)

Crowd cheers.

LG: "And his opponent, representing the Four Horsemen, from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, weighing in at 220 lbs., he is the JWL World Heavyweight Champion, 'THE CRIPPLER' CHRIS BENOIT!"

Benoit and Steiner have a stiff, intense match, with Benoit using his technical skills to counter Steiner's power stuff. Benoit fights back and finishes with the German Suplexes and the Crippler Crossface for the tap out at 10:00.

LG: "Here is your winner, and still JWL World Heavyweight Champion, CHRIS BENOIT!"

Crowd cheers.

End of show.
