The JWL [Episode 10]

Live from The Ice Palace, Tampa, FL.

You know the drill.

We go right to the ring.

Joey Styles: "Please welcome, the new JWL World Heavyweight Champion, 'THE CRIPPLER' CHRIS BENOIT!"

("Rabid" plays, as the Champ makes his way out, with Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Dean Malenko and Terri Runnels.)

Joey: "Chris, let me be the first to congratulate you on winning the title last night at the Royal Rumble."

Chris: "Thank you very much, Joey Styles. On the first episode of this show, we told the world that the Horsemen were going to get the belts. Well, this is just the beginning. Soon, all the belts will be in the Horsemen camp. Someone might say that I got lucky by drawing #30, well, even if that is true, it doesn't matter. I'm going to be a fighting champion and no one is going to take this belt from me. I dare anyone out there to prove me wrong."

("Game" plays. Crowd boos.)

HHH emerges from the back with a mic.

HHH: "Hey-uh, Benoit. You said that you dared anyone to prove you wrong. Well, I'm here to take you up on that. You took advantage of me when I was trying to get back in the ring. I should have won that night. I'm supposed to be the champion. After tonight, I will be the champion. Because I am the Game, and I am that damn good!"

Benoit: "You want it, HHH. You got it."

Crowd pops. JR sums up what just happened.

Fast forward to our first match.

Opening match:Kamala The Ugandan Giant and Meng (w/"The Taskmaster" Kevin Sullivan) vs. "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner and Jeff Jarrett (w/Midajah)

LG: "The following tag team contest is scheduled for one fall."

(Scott Steiner's music plays)

LG: "Introducing first, being accompanied by his favorite freak Midajah and representing The Franchise Foundation, from Bay City, MI, weighing in at 270 lbs., 'BIG POPPA PUMP' SCOTT STEINER!"

Crowd boos.

(Jarrett's "Chosen One" music plays)

Crowd boos.

LG: "And his tag team partner, also representing The Franchise Foundation, from Hendersonville, TN, weighing in at 234 lbs., JEFF JARRETT!"

Steiner is wearing his metal headdress and hands his foam lead pipe to Midajah. Steiner then climbs the turnbuckle and poses. Jarrett has a guitar with him and takes the mic.

Jarrett: "Listen all you Florida slapnuts. The only reason you boo us is because you know that you could never be as great as The Chosen One and The Genetic Freak. We are the ones with all the stroke around the JWL, not you and not those idiots in the Dungeon of Doom. So shut up and choke on that, slapnuts."

Steiner: "All I care about are my freaks (kisses Midajah) and my peaks (kisses own bicep.) So, to all my freaks out there, Big Poppa Pump is your hookup. Holla if ya hear me!"

(The Dungeon of Doom's music plays. Crowd cheers.)

LG: "And their opponents, being led to the ring by 'The Taskmaster' Kevin Sullivan and representing The Dungeon of Doom, first, from Uganda, weighing in at 425 lbs., KAMALA THE UGANDAN GIANT, and his partner, from The Kingdom of Tonga, weighing in at 295 lbs., MENG!"

A clip is shown of Steiner eliminating Kamala and Jarrett eliminating Meng the night before at the Royal Rumble, soon available on VHS and DVD from JWL Home Video.

Meng and Steiner start. It's a ugly, stiff slugfest for the first few minutes, with no clear winner. Meng takes over with some HARD knife-edged chops and kicks. Meng hits a powerslam for 2. Meng keeps up the attack and gets a dropkick for another 2 count. Steiner fights back and gets some suplexes and clotheslines. A big belly to back suplex gets 2. Steiner tags in Jarrett, who gets some slams and a DDT for 2. Jarrett stalls and plays to the crowd, drawing boos. Meng attacks again and goes back to the pounding. Meng tags in Kamala for more punishment. Kamala flattens Jarrett with some corner splashes. Kamala goes for the big splash, but Midajah trips him up and hits him with the pipe. Kamala and Jarrett are both down and in no position to tag their partners. Referee John Finnegan is temporarily distracted by Midajah, so Meng and Steiner both get the same idea and run in and drag their partners over to the corner to make the tags. Sullivan gets in Midajah's face, runs her off, and yells at Finnegan to pay attention to the match. He turns around just in time to see the tags bring Meng and Steiner back into the match again. They pick up where they left off, with more stiff brawling. Steiner fights back and hits some big suplexes on Meng. Meng keeps coming back and it becomes a stalemate. Finally, Meng delivers some STIFF kicks right to the face of Steiner. With Steiner wobbly, Meng hooks the Tongan Death Grip. Finnegan counts 1...2...3.!

LG: "Here are your winners, the team of KAMALA AND MENG!"

JR announces that all members of both the Horsemen and the Clique have been barred from ringside for this match.

The match starts and Benoit attacks right away, unleashing some vicious chops and clotheslines. Benoit hits a snap suplex for 2. Benoit whips HHH into the corner and chops away. Benoit goes to work on HHH's arm and shoulder to set up for the Crippler Crossface. HHH counters with knees and a swinging neckbreaker for 2. HHH outright piefaces Benoit, not a good decision. BENOIT IS MAD! Benoit just proceeds to beat the hell out HHH from pillar to post. This is an asskicking of the first order. Benoit hits the Triple Rolling German Suplexes and adds a Dragon Suplex for good measure. The crowd is buzzing since they know what is next, and indeed Benoit gives the thumb-across-the-throat sign. Benoit climbs up and hits the Diving Headbutt on HHH, who is 3/4 of the way across the ring! Benoit locks on the Crippler Crossface and HHH has no choice but to tap out.
