FRANKLIN REED, 82, STRICKEN

DEATH RESULTS FROM HEART AILMENT; RITES WILL BE HELD WEDNESDAY.

Suffering with a heart ailment since September, Franklin B. Reed, 82, of 1408 S. Park St. died at 4:40 o’clock this morning at his home.

The son of Daniel and Eliza G. Reed, the decedent was born in Ancona March 27, 1864. His marriage to Ida Bell Willavize took place in Dana December 2, 1885, and they became the parents of six children, two of whom are deceased. Mrs. Reed preceded her husband in death 22 years ago. Mr. Reed has spent his entire life in this community, where he was well known, and was engaged in farming until his retirement in 1908. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Dana. In recent years he has made his home with his daughters.

Surviving are four children, Mrs. Mabel Wabel of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Cora Mae Woolford – Hollinger and Mrs. Mary Eliza Anderson of Streator (IL) and Mrs. Edith Fern Holt of Joliet; 23 grandchildren, , 40 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Mrs. Rosalie Anderson – Harter and Clarence Reed are the children who preceded their father in death.

Final rites are to be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon in the Hagi funeral home, with internment following in the Longpoint cemetery. Rev. Harry Reed of the first Baptist church will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 o’clock Tuesday afternoon.
