AMT  1950 Chevy Stepside Pickup  hammered!!

Slightly customized kit I started with                        Stock kit I picked up later for comparison

Nikon bellied up so poor photos of already in progress model are with 35mm Advantix. Here is the  first photo. Top is already chopped 1/4", and fenders are sawn off of front. 1/4" tape shows the amount that will be removed from cab and hood. 6 cyl engine was tossed and new engine mounts and a buick V-8 engine are fitted in the frame.
October 21, 2001  Cab and hood section completed (roughly), tilt front end is fitted to cab. Grill has lowest bar removed and bottom edge of fenders have been contoured and headlights frenched. Bed has been lowered and fenders raised to the lip and the bed has been shortened 1/4" from the front edge. Rear quarter windows have been filled in. After these photos, the tilt front attachment was fitted to the frame and matched up with the cab. Things are now dismantled and will be cleaned up for painting and assembly. I think all of the hard parts are done. I searched out another '50 Chev stepside model kit and built it stock so I could have something to compare this radicalness to.
