Bening Prophetic Archive
La Ceja is a town of about 30,000 souls, located a little more than 1 hour East of Medellin. We are obeying the directions of the Lord to visit other cities in Antioquia State. La Ceja is one of the 25 largest cities in Antioquia.
We spent two days there, and ministered in four homes. This is a VERY Roman Catholic place! There are statues of the Virgin Mary and the Baby Jesus in just about every building and house, public and private. The only other religious meeting place I saw was for the Jehovahīs Witnesses. Yes, they have even reached here.
I was beginning to be discouraged in the first home we visited: that of Amelia and Jose, because there seemed to be no opening for the word of the Lord in this place, but prayer in the spirit, and a little bit of time passing, seemed to open things up.
Things really changed when we went to the home of Jairo and Margarita. Amelia accompanied us, and she was much more receptive to the word of truth in this home. Margarita asked us to anoint the home, and we prayed for all in the home, who confessed Jesus Christ, and expressed their intention to repent of their sins, and of their prayers to the virgin and to the dead saints. At this time, Amelia, age 83, decided to pray and confess her belief in Christ, and she pledged that she would no longer pray to Mary, to the saints, and that she would stop praying the rosary.
We had a fairly tense encounter with the priest in the city, whose challenege to my wife as "How can you leave behind the sacraments of the church"? My wife boldly stood up to this man, who elected to address only my wife. By his comments, he was very staunchly in the "worship unto Mary" camp that infects Catholicism. That practice is very rabid here.
He made one challenge to me, which all of you should consider.
He said that he was aware that most of the Christian Churches in America were manipulating the people for money, and were wrongly imposing tithing scriptures on their members, to squeeze them for money. He said that all he asks of his people is that they work one day a year for the church. I frankly admitted to him that he spoke the truth, and that everyone who ministers, and does these things, will have to stand before God to give an account.
It really caused me to shudder, that Roman Catholics are being held in bondage because American Churches, and those here who seek to emulate American churches, pull so hard for money. The Roman Catholic priests are using this very true accusation, concerning these greedy money practices of the Christian Churches, as a means of holding on to their members. I fear to say it that many will not hear the truth because of these great abominable sins within the Christian camp.
We also visited and shared the gospel in the home of Saccorro, and we stayed the night in the home of Gloria and her son Sebastien. We shared the word of life with these, but received interest only from the children. We were treated kindly, but the hold of idolatry on this place is very strong. The children are taught religion class in elementary school. I inspected the school notes and texts of that class, of a third grader. She is taught in that class that the Virgin Mary is our guide. Indoctrination here begins at an early age.
Our trip back to Medellin was by private car. A man named Guillermo, of some considerable financial means, offered to ferry us back to the city. We shared the gospel with him during the drive, as I was very strongly led to give my testimony: of being a rich man, and the son of a rich man, and being called to serve our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. God has taught me to not be silent in the presence of the rich, nor to assume they will always reject the truth. I am so glad that the man who witnessed to me 17 years ago did not assume that I would have no interest because I was rich. I believe we made some progress with this gentle man.
I have shared this report for last. It happened the day before we left for La Ceja. I received a call, in the morning, that one of my readers had been instructed by God to wire me $500 for work in the mission. The receipt of it was very timely. So, we were preparing to go to claim the money. All at once, there was a commotion outside. My wife exclaimed that someone was having a heart attack.
I went out, and immediately took out my bottle of anointing oil, and anointed the man, and prayed the prayer of faith. Then, I ordered every foul and unclean spirit to come out of the man. He had been convulsing as I began to pray for him, but when I commanded that the evil spirits leave, he collapsed, as dead, but he was still breathing. I told those nearby that he would be alright in about 15 minutes.
In that short space of time, he sat up, and I carried him into the house. He stunk quite a bit, and had obviously not bathed or laundered his clothes in several days. We discovered he was an epileptic, and needed medicine, so we sent for the medicine he needed, because he had none. Then, we fed him, and preached to him.
This man, Liberto, accepted the gospel, and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, in our home. We gave him some financial assistance, and I gave him some of my clothes, to replace his own. We sent him on his way, and he appeared for all the world to be a new man as he exited from our home. I believe he is going to be doing much better now.
That is all from South of the border today. I have been under a bit of spiritual attack this morning, but the fasting and prayer, and the worship, seem to be helping, and my spirits are rising, as I write this article. Please also pray for my wife, and for the unity of our marriage, as the enemy loves to drive in little wedges and then he tries to make them bigger. Please especially pray for her faith, and that she may be freed from unbelief in certain areas regarding the power of God.
Please keep us in prayer that our movements will be explicitly directed by the Holy Spirit, and that we will obey perfectly.
Finally, before I left for Colombia, I purchased my air tickets for my mission to Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria. I will be going for 33 days, from September 3, to October 7. The cost of the air tickets was more than $2,500, and I am simply moving by faith that the Lord will take care of it for me. It is time for me, and other remnant servants of our Lord Jesus Christ, to rise up, and sit enthroned as the kings and princes that we have been made unto God, and His Father.
The people I am working with would like me to send a little money, as soon as possible, for the printing of handbills to announce our outdoor crusades, and to prepay for four hours of radio time in Kenya. I believe $1,000 would cover it all.
