It is Saturday morning, and I finally have opportunity to spend several hours on the internet. Thus far, I have only had internet access one time prior while here. I have wanted to write in detail, and to inform my friends and readers more adequately concerning my ministry here, but the ministry has become very intense. As this long article unfolds, it will become clear just what that means.
Medellin Colombia is a city that God began speaking to me about in the year 2000. There is a prophecy that may be found on my website, GAMMADIM VISION, concerning Colombia and Haiti. Light To Come Forth From Colombia And Haiti
America has had three great awakenings of God, while Colombia has never had even one. The Pope´s men came here in 1687, and there has never been a great move of God here...until now.
God told me then that a great move of the fire and the light of God would begin in the rural areas of Colombia, and spread to the cities, and then, to the USA.
Now, God has told me that the first part has been fulfilled. The population of Medellin has swelled to 3 million, as farmers have been chased into the city by the guerilla´s abandoning their farms. Many of those farmers are Christians.
Then, God gave me another piece of this revelation just last week.
The only way that America will have a fourth great awakening is if the fire burns intensely and brightly enough in Colombia and in Haiti to spread like a wildfire. It is beginning to burn here, and I´ll explain later.
Finally, God told me that the reputation of this city is going to change. People will travel from all over the world to come here because God is here.
Currently, this city has a murder rate that is the highest anywhere in the world, at more than fifty times the US average and 25 times the rate for the city in the USA with the highest murder rate. Kidnapping and extortion is a national industry, along with the drug industry.
I attend a church of Colombian immigrants in Hollywood, Florida. When I told them that God had called me to their city, they said that I was crazy. My pastor, a Colombian, will not go to Medellin. My pastor´s wife said that she would only go to Medellin on a direct order from the Father.
I pray for words to adequately describe conditions here. Everywhere I go here, there are beggars. They immediately recognize me as an American, even if I say nothing. I stick out like a sore thumb here. I have not seen one other American here in fifteen days, and I have met no one here who speaks English.
I cannot describe the conditions as squalor, but as of intense overcrowding. People are shoved into the barrios like rats. They are everywhere. It is an alien feeling to be here. The drivers do not stop at stop signs, and show no courtesy to pedestrians. If you step out in front of a car at a stop sign, they will run over you. The taxi drivers deserve combat pay. It is absolutely incredible to ride on the streets of this city, as we have done.
Our ministry began in our home on Calle (Street) 32. It is in a lower middle class neighborhood. The home meetings began with a few dozen people who accepted Jesus Christ.
I am preaching a message of hope to these people, but with prophetic firmness. God´s promises come with conditions. They must repent of Catholic idolatries. They must never go to the Abruja (witch/spiritist) again. I am teaching them to lift their hands in prayer, and to recognize the presence of God.
From the first meeting, God´s presence has been incredibly strong here, and it has been building. As it has built, my fasting and prayer has increased. Now, I am fasting approximately 1/2 of my meals...for the last week. The outpouring of God´s power and authority has never been seen by me....anywhere....anytime.. It is unprecedented in my experience.
We began to minister in the streets on the second day. Beggars approached us, and we ministered to them with the gospel, the truth, the need for repentance, and with Colombian pesos. The effect has been dramatic.
I have been adopted by a Church here. The name is Iglesia Cruzada De Bulerias. There were about 75 believers there when we arrived, and my last two meetings have seen about 150 present.
The awesome signs began last Sunday, July 13, (Day 9) in my second time of preaching and ministering in the church. More than twenty people accepted Christ. My preaching was extremely tough, telling them that they must repent, stop sinning and walk obediently with the Lord if they expect God to heal their land. God began to move with power, as we cast out many demons, with several very dramatic manifestations. A powerful spirit of repentance was present. The entire church was overwhelmed with weeping as we ministered for almost an hour.
Since last Sunday, I have been in much fastings, and ministerings in the homes and in the streets. Every single day, in Jesus´name, I have cast out demons...in our house...in the streets...with dramatic manifestations. Healings have occurred too.
Last Tuesday (Day 11), the Lord spoke to me, and told me that on Friday, after a whole day of planned fasting and prayer and battling with the church intercession group on Thursday, that my wife and I could go into Satan´s stronghold: the areas of the Neighborhood Popular, Santo Domingo and other poor areas where there are many murders, kidnappings, lawlessness and guerilla activities. That day, we also did some street witnessing. In the photo below, we prayed for and fed a beggar named Gonzalo who lives under one of the local bridges.
Thursday night, July 17 (Day 13) at the church was marked by an incredible deliverance of a young man named Oscar Andres. Oscar is 17, and confessed Christ. Several of the ladies began to pray for him, and lay hands on him, and he fell on the floor. The demons had hoped to convince those ladies to cease their praying, but it did not work. On they prayed, as I ministered to others and cast out many devils in the name of Jesus. Then, the Lord told me to go and assist.
Oscar was lying face up, and I kneeled over him, at his head. The Holy Spirit instructed me to hit him on the top of his head, with my palm of my right hand, several times. When I hit him, I would shout, "In the name of Jesus, OUT". Over and over again I hit him...very hard. People were gathered around me and staring. I suppose their either thought I was crazy, or that I would hurt him, because I was hitting him very hard. Suddenly, all the demons began to flow forth out of his mouth. You could see the effect of their exit with your eyes. Then, it seemed as if he died. He stopped breathing and passed out, but we prayed a bit more, and he revived. In the photo, Oscar Andres is at far right. The young man at far left had just spent his first night in a Christian Church. It was reported to me later that he had killed many people.
Friday, July 18 came (Day 14), and at 2 P.M., we embarked for the center of the valley of the shadow of death. We had an invitation to two homes in the high altitude area neighborhood of Jardin. Upward and upward we climbed in our taxi, winding through the narrow streets in our taxi.
The center of Medellin is at 5000 feet, and is circled by mountains of 10,000 feet. Our destination was more than half way up, at about 8,000 feet, in one of the poorest areas. We first visited the home of Fabiola, who had been an Abruja (witch) until a few days ago. She repented in our meeting, and now wants to serve the Lord. She had about twenty people in her home, and we ministered to them. Right there, in that poor home, we cast out devils, and healed the sick. We led a six year old little girl to Christ with more than ten others. In the photo, Fabiola is at far right.
Then, at 4:30, we moved to the home of Hildalgo and Noemi, further up the mountain. More than twenty people were there. There were many Catholic idols in this home. Our host, Hidalgo, wanted us to show him what he should destroy, and we complied. We ministered the gospel to this group, and the message of obedience to Christ. Then, God poured out his spirit again with the expulsion of devils, healing, prophecy and weeping. It was incredible. Finally, it was time to leave this home.
We walked down the mountain a ways, and caught a taxi. My wife was a bit afraid, as many people were beginning to gather outside, as it was 7 P.M., and everyone was through with their work for the day.
The taxi drive down the mountain began, and I have never seen such sights. People were crowded out into the streets, and around the front of every house. The only place in America where we see people in such density is at a shopping mall or sporting event or concert. Imagine living in that crush of people, every day of your life?
I have been told that no American has gone up into that area in a long time. Praise be to God who has given me the boldness, and the protection, to go to minister to these people who have such incredible needs.
Needs:
I could easily give away $50,000 US here, just to the ones whom I have met who have really grave needs. Since my last communication, the needs have multiplied. I have no ability to meet them on my own. I´ll discuss some of these.
Basic food needs: I am meeting these by giving ·$40,000 Colombian to each family that is destitute. That is $14 US dollars per family. They can buy about three weeks food with that for four.
Electricity/Cooking needs: There is a developing problem here that I just became aware of in the poor neighborhood. The price of electricity-water-telephone has recently increased dramatically, and several of these families I have ministered to are about to be cut off. They each owe about 1 million Colombian, which is about 300 US dollars. Presently, I cannot afford to do anything about their electricity bills, but for 100,000 colombian pesos, I can buy them a small propane stove, and equip them so that they can cook when their power is cut off. They will have to haul water in from a neighbor.
Other needs: One young lady needs $500,000 colombian, about $150 US, by Monday, or she will be thrown out of nursing school.
Church needs: My adoptive church needs $20 million colombian, about $14,000 for a bus to carry people-musical instruments to work in the poor area. They also need $3 million for a movie projector to show evangelistic movies in these areas. They also need money for bibles, as they give a lot away. They can buy a nice Spanish bible for 9000 Colombian, which is about $6 US.
I will speak this to you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, as His prophet. I speak with His authority, and apostolic signs are now following this ministry every single day. This I will say to you all:
The needs here are acute! Anyone who turns away from people such as these will have to give an account to the Lord. You have seen my ministry in my writings. You know my heart. We are living frugally here, eating rice and beans and other humble foods with our host here. We are not eating out. We are not wasting money here. We are stretching ourselves to our physical limit.
Giving money to this cause will not be watered down by administrative costs, salaries, rents and such. I have no such things. The money will go fully and directly to help these people. Additionally, I have been paying for taxi´s to bring these people to our meetings. I fully expect to have to pay $100,000 colombian for taxi´s to bring the poor to our Sunday morning meeting. That is about $35 US, and it will pay for 6 taxi´s, at four people per taxi. If more come from the poor area, I will pay for it.
Think about it! These people have never seen these signs of God before. They have never seen a prophet minister. They have never even once felt the awesome presence of God in a worship meeting with anointed praise. They are getting this opportunity now, and you are helping to provide it.
Dear WPA...we are a team in this effort. I am letting everyone know that many people from many countries are assisting in this missionary effort. I need your prayers, and yes, all of us here need your financial support.
As for me, my needs are few. I am not eating very much, as I must fast for God´s power to flow through me to the maximum. That is all very well with me.
These people need help now. God is with us here in power and might. I have never seen anything like it. Only have I read about such things in the past, in meetings held by ministers in the past. I boast only in Lord. He is doing it all, and using me as His vessel...a conduit. I am here, and I am opeying him.
As you pray, consider this alien place, where life is so different. Consider this solitary American, Stephen L. Bening, in this different world. Consider that you can reach these poor people so easily at this time. Give to your own hurt if you need to, but by all means give, and I will get it to the people who need it the most. Blessings,
