The purpose of this web site is to locate missing pieces of our puzzle.
The illusive Ellingsgard line (we are the one and only known family in US at this time) came to this country possibly in the mid to late 1800's and Smith  (from Manchester, England) settled in Brooklyn NY in the late 1800's.

I started doing genealogy about six years ago.  I have not been able to get far.
Most of our ancestry is outside of this country and hard to track down.  Our Ellingsgard line came to this country from either Norway or Denmark. 

How common is ELLINGSGARD in Norway?  A search of the Surname at one site gave me a hit of 17 spelled with one A and 11 spelled ELLINGSGAARD.  It is not one of the top 100 surnames in the country.
