The Dane Michael Group has wooed audiences for the past 20 years performing at conventions, corporate parties, weddings, shows, pageants and many other special events, including appearances on television and radio.
The group has entertained at the finest venues in central and south Florida including, Sea World, Busch Gardens, Cypress Gardens, the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, Ruth Eckerd Hall, the Bayfront Center, and the Ringling
Mansion, along with many private clubs such as the Tampa Club, University Club, and the President's Club. They have also appeared many times at the area's best hotels and restaurants including the Ritz, the Hyatts, the Sheratons, the Hiltons, the Radissons, the Don CeSar, the Bellview Mido, the Wine Cellar, Armani's, the Royal Marine Ballroom, and at many fine country clubs and convention centers such as Tampa Palms, Avilla, East Lake Woodlands, the Tampa Convention Center, Innisbrook, and Saddlebrook. The Band has played for many National and International clients including the Ford Corporation, Chevrolet, Kraft Foods, Lays, Coca Cola, the Florida Departmant of State, the Governor of Florida, BMW of Germany and many more.
The Dane Michael Group has also performed at numerous special events such as the grand opening of the Stouffer's Vinoy Hotel, the G.T.E. Grand Prix, Home Shopping Network's Connie Stevens Awards, Tampa's Outback Bowl, many U.S. Marine Corps and Pinellas County Deputant Balls, just to name a few.
The Group is headed by composer-arranger Dane Michael Smith, a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, who holds a Master of Music Composition Degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa. Dane recently composed, arranged and produced the original music score for the film "Two Days Till Tomorrow." The post production work was done at Century |||- Universal Studios in Orlando FL. The Dane Michael Group recorded the entire soundtrack. Dane is the keyboard-guitarist-lead vocalist who is accompianed by Irwin Brodsky on Bass guitar-vocals; Duke Muka, saxaphones-vocals; Jeff Skeim, percussion-vocals; and keyboard-vocalist Tracy Kamps. The group also adds a larger horn section on occasion when requested.
The band plays a variety of music to please crowds of all ages from the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's to top 40, Jazz and original compositions.
Over the years thousands of people have requested to see the group in public. With the booking of so many private functions, the band has been unavailable to public venues. Now, for the first time in 12 years the Dane Michael Group has decided to play at clubs and public functions as well as private ones.
