Advanced technical support for Cisco and Nortel based international travel reservation system supporting over 130,000 nodes at more than 47,000 locations world-wide utilizing Cisco 7000, 4000, and 2500 series routers, Nortel Passport 6400 series multi-service switches, and Nortel DPN-100 packet switches. Trouble-shoot chronic and escalated trouble reports involving TCP/IP, frame-relay and X.25 protocols and support data, voice, and video traffic over an international ATM backbone. Established US Network Support office in Miami in order to manage third-party providers for frame-relay (US, Canada) and other protocols (X.25, SDLC and ALC) in South and Central America). Provide installation and trouble-shooting support of NT-based Internet server farms and other web-based 'e-commerce' networks utilizing load-balancing equipment such as Cisco LocalDirector and RadWare WSD Pro.

Supervise and provide advanced technical support for 9 network technicians and consultants in a 24x7 Network Operations Center. Primary responsibilities include:
Responsible for all maintenance issues of a semi-private nationwide dual-protocol (IPX/IP) WAN with a backbone of T1, T3 and OC-3 circuits routed by Cisco 7xxx series routers. Router exchange points utilize both FDDI and ATM technologies at their core. Dedicated customer access supports corporate and ISP networks via frame-relay, T1 and fractional T circuits. Remote access is supported by over 5000 dedicated NetWare Connect dial-in ports plus over 200 external dial-connectivity POP's. Also function as primary technical contact for administration of network management platforms including HP OpenView, NetWare Directory Services (NDS), and proprietary UNIX based billing and capacity management systems.

Lead administrator out of a 5 person team supporting a 400+ node multi-protocol NetWare 3.12 and 4.1 LAN/WAN running Windows workstations. Day-to-day support of major PC software packages, cc:Mail, Internet access, UNIX mini and IBM main-frame connectivity. Planned and implemented network expansion from 100 to 400 users while migrating from NetWare 3.12 to version 4.1. Constructed (from multiple vendors) fault tolerant (RAID5) servers for NetWare 4.1 deployment. Evaluated and tested new network hardware, software and operating systems including OS2 and NT server. Administered Email platforms and SMTP gateways to the Internet.
