Chapter 2

"JC! Wake up, sleepy man!"

JC opened his eyes to see Joey standing above him, dresssed to the nines in a black suit with a brightly colored tie. "Get up. We're going to a party."

"Party?" JC repeated.

Joey nodded. "Yeah. Some rich tycoon is here, and he's invited everyone to this party he's having. It's supposed to be very classy. Get dressed."

JC moaned as he rolled out of bed. He wanted a vacation; not to be going to snotty parties. He wanted to lounge around, see the beach, and, of course, sleep. 'Guess I have no other choice,' he thought as he went into his room closet and pulled out his suit.

*********

The party was just as Joey had predicted: incredibly classy. JC observed dozens of women wearing insane numbers of diamonds that glittered in the lights of the room. All the men wore suits and tuxedos, and most had one of the diamond flaunting wowmen on thier arm.

JC ended up being alone for the first half of the party. Chris, Justin, and Joey were talking with some model-lookalikes that they had run into, and Lance was in deep conversation with a redhead who looked like Kate Winslet in a navy blue evening gown. Bored with the party, JC walked out on the patio to enjoy the stars.

Only a few of the partygoers were on the patio, chatting and sipping wine out of glasses. No one seemed to notice JC when he walked further down toward the beach. He took off his shoes and socks, not wanting to get sand in them, and began to walk down the stretch of sand. The night sky amazed him; the stars were a thousand times more visable here than they were when he was on tour. He just stood there for a moment, admiring the heavenly bodies around him. He then heard a female voice say form behind him:

"Isn't it beautiful?"

He turned around, shocked at the fact that he wasn't alone. He turned to see the same girl he had helped earlier that day. This time, she wore a long white strapless dress. Her dark hair was elegantly pulled up at the top of her head.

"Yeah.... it's amazing."

"I love looking at the stars." She turned to face him. "They make everything look so peaceful. It just blows my mind. You know, all of that is up there and no one knows if there really is some other form of life or anything."

"I agree with you there." She was the only person that had been willing enough to strike up a conversation with him that night. And he was grateful to her.

"I'm sorry, we haven't been properly introduced," he said after a moment of silence.

The girl looked at him, sincereity shining in her eyes. "I'm Liesel Cameron," she said, extending her hand. "It's quite the pleasure to meet you....."

He felt no excuse to give her a fake name. "JC. JC Chasez. Nice to meet you."
