MAKE YOUR OWN

WARNING - I AM NOT AN EXPERT IN THE FOLLOWING SUBJECT AREAS,  SO TRY THE FOLLOWING TIPS AND RECIPES AT YOUR OWN RISK.  SOME HERBS ARE TOXIC IF INGESTED AND SHOULD NOT BE USED IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN OR PETS.  PEOPLE MAY ALSO BE ALLERGIC TO SOME HERBS.

SAGE BUNCHES

Tie wild or garden bunches and hand around house, outdoor porches and terraces.   Many insects dislike sage.

MOTH PREVENTIVE

2 tablespoon cloves
2 tablespoons caraway seeds
2 tablespoons nutmeg
2 tablespoons mace
2 tablespoons cinnamon
2 tablespoons tonquin beans
12 tablespoons orris root powder (fixative)

Grind first six herbs together.  Mix in orris root.  Place mixture in cotton bags or cheesecloth.  Place in closets, etc.

INSECTICIDE

1/2 teaspoon rosemary oil
1/2 pint light beer

Combine and use as spray or lotion.  Some people are allergic to oils - so use caution.

INSECTICIDE REPELLENT

2 tablespoons rosemary powder
2 tablespoons wormwood leaf powder

Combine above and place in room, closets, or drawers.   Repels insects.
