Someone wrote in telling me that they like the Four Runner and I just had to check it for for myself. Just to get the technical stuff out of the way.
First of all there is a four cyclinder version with 150 hp. I am not even going to go there. If you read my paragraph on the Tracker then you already know how I feel about that. The V6 has 183 HP. Definatly not a power SUV. It gets an average of 20MPG with a 18.5 gallon tank. The V6 also claims to be able to tow 5,000 pounds to include weight of cargo and passangers. (Suburban must be laughing)
From what I can tell about the Four Runner it tries to hard to be luxurios to be a real SUV. But from what an e-mail told me they are very safe. I was told of an accident in which the vehicle rolled over many times and all four passengers came out with minor injuries. (WEAR YOUR SEATBELTS PLEASE) From the endless list of features which I will not bore you with here (Check out Toyota's official site)
Overrall, this does seem like an OK vehicle. I don't see it being really rugged. (If anyone has any information to contradict this....then click on my e-mail at the bottom of the page) And one pet peeve of mine. It has one of those distributorless ignitions. (rant coming om!) We are losing the mechanics in vehicles and replacing them with electronics. This makes me upset! I REFUSE to own a vehicle started by a computer! NEVER EVER EVER!!!!!!. However, I can live with fuel injection. Just my 2 cents anyway. See, you with more exciting SUV's
