Save The Pandas!

Do you...

Hi! This is Mandy and Valerie! We are two teenagers from Sebastian, Florida who love pandas! We believe that pandas are very special creatures and they need our help! We're here to help the pandas. This is where you come in. We need help in helping the pandas! We need ideas and support. What sort of fund raisers can we do? Any ideas?? Please please please e-mail us! Our e-mail address is below. We need as much help as we can get!! Don't forget to bookmark our site so that you can keep on coming back. Right now we are working on starting a letter writing campaign to save the pandas. To look up the addresses, e-mail addresses, and phone numbers of your local officials, click here! ...anything at all that you do to promote this effort is very much appreciated... Thank you so much! Love, Mandy and Valerie

August 16,2001- Don't forget to e-mail me with your suggestions and comments!!!!

August 3,2001- Okay, guys, I can't stress enough how important it is for each and every one of you to get involved! If every person who visits this site contacts just one of their local government officals and lets them know that the citizens want something done to help save the pandas... and then contacts one of their friends and has them do the same... goverment officials all over the world would be be forced to realize that they have to take action! That's what the government is supposed to be there for... to meet the needs and demands of citizens. Demand that they help that pandas!!!!!

May 21, 2001- Here are some links to pages where you can buff up on your giant panda knowledge:

The BIG Zoo!
The-Panda Online

July 5, 2001- I finally got some feedback from the World Wildlife Fund about panda adoption... here is what they told me...

To adopt or "sponsor" an animal, contact: American Association for Zoological Parks and Aquariums at 7970-D Old Georgetown Road Bethesda, MD 20814 phone(301)907-7777

To help the WWF support pandas, visit:

They also added... We suggest that you contact the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA). World Society for the Protection of Animals 29 Perkins Street P.O. Box 190 Boston, MA 02130 617-522-7000

I will continue to follow up on all of this and keep you posted, feel free to do the same!

May 14, 2001- KIDS: I'm sure most of you guys go to school, right? Even if you don't you probably at least have a friend who does. Lets get some schools involved! If there is a science or environmental club at your school, go to them first. If not, go to a teacher or principal. Start a school-wide letter writing campaign. There's a link above to the website where you can find contact information for you local government officials. Write to them and let them know that you're concerned about the giant pandas. Ask them what is being done to help save the pandas; and what they think you can do. Make them think about the issue! The more people we can get involved the better!!

April 24,2001- I've discovered some new environmental web sites with sections on the giant panda. I think my favorite was probably the National Wildlife Federation. I've added a link to it at the bottom but to get there you could also

April 6,2001- I invite all of you to watch the Animal Planet global television event "MEET THE PANDAS: Washington’s New Power Couple" showing April 22, 9pm ET/PT only on Animal Planet!

March 31,2001- KIDS: I've got a club for you... the Endangered Animal Center's children's program... please check it out, sign up, and get to work on their special projects! You can view their webpage and get signup information at Have fun!!!

Everyone: Please join Care2!!! Go to and become a member! There you can send free e-cards (the best ones I've found so far) as well as participate in environmental conservation efforts! They make it so easy... all you have to do is click on the designated links and instantly you're saving rainforests or endangered animals! Please help... remember, this is your planet. Keep it healthy!
