This page is dedicated to the author of the site, Me. My name is Michael Berry and I am the guitarist and singer of Nitrogen. I have been playing guitar for two years now and I enjoy playing punk & grunge styles more than anything else. This is probably where the band gets its style from.
I attend school at Glenvista High in Johannesburg, South Africa and I am in Grade 12.
My influences include Nirvana, Green Day, Offspring, Live, Metallica, Megadeth, MxPx, Ghoti Hook, Ascended Truth, Bloodhound Gang, Garbage, Goo Goo Dolls,Just Jinger, Smashing Pumpkins, R.E.M, Type O Negative & Ozzy Osbourne. Quite a mixed bunch huh? Well, I believe in keeping as wide as possible a range in music. It gives your own music more variation I think. Also I don't believe in not listening to something just because it's popular. This whole Anti-Trendy Effort is just as bad as being trendy and thus a waste of time.
If you don't recognise a couple of the bands above, don't be surprised. Some are South African like Ascended Truth, others are Christian like MxPx & Ghoti Hook. These are brilliant bands that have yet to make a world wide hit and are just frowned upon because they fall into a different category.Shame on you people, support local music now!
