New Simpsons Toys On Their Way!!! We just found out that Playmates,
creaters of Teenage Mutant Ninja
Turtle Toys, is planning to release in Spring of 2000, a line of Simpsons
Action Figures and Playsets. The last
company making Simpsons toys was Mattel in 1990 during "The Year of the
Simpsons" as some call it due to the
fact that the Simpsons got really started that year as a television show
and because of merchandising that year. So
much Simpsons merchandise was made that year, that it is hard to not find
old stuff
rather than new stuff. The Simpsons merchandising is alot harder to find
new now
cause of how it got started. But, in spirit of the new Millenium, Fox and
Playmates
have lined up a series of action figures and playsets. The new series will
consist of
more characters than the original series which only consisted of the 5
original char-
acters with talk-bubbles sticking out of their heads with phrases from
the show. The
original series also included Nelson the Bully which was discontinued a
month earlier
than the rest of the collection. And also one playset that came with a
couch with an
ejector seat and a television set that had slide in pictures and also had
talk-bubbles
like the characters. The new sets, however, have no need for talk-bubbles,
they talk
and chatter back and forth when placed near each other. Also, there will
be alot
characters than just what the original series had. Along this line of characters
will be:
*The original 5*, Barney, Moe, Mr. Burns, Ned Flanders, Astronaut Homer,
Krusty
the Klown, Smithers, Santa's Little Helper, Snowball 2, Grampa, Patty,
Selma, and
more!!! Also the playsets that will be avaliable will be:
