As we climb our family tree we find, right away, there are some offshoots that need some explanation. Our father, James Marvin Brock, Jr, was borned a Clemmons. He was raised from about 6 to 14 years of age by an aunt on his mother's side who was married to a Brock. During his early years he seemed to have alternated his name between Clemmons and Brock, finally settling for Brock for the latter half of his life. His mother, Samantha, was borned to Eliza Pippin Newsom, we believe out of wedlock. However Eliza raised Samantha as a Newsom. We have elected to follow her branch through the Pippin line of her mother. There will be further explanation as you will see in the totality of our story. Our mother was the child of Clayton Jackson Foxworth and Buelah B. Lanier. Therefore, these four family lines will be our primary focus toward our ancestors. We will follow the Brock lines to our decendants. As you click on the names below it will take you to the pages primarily addressing these family ties. |
