MATTHEW PERRY'S BIOGRAPHY




Matthew Perry was born on August 19, 1969 and he is 30 yrs. old. He was born in Willimstown, Massachuettes and grew up in Ottawa, Ontario. Matthew's parents divorced when he was a little kid. He is the only child of Suzanne and John Perry.


Matt became a top ranked Junior Tennis player when he was growing up in Canada and becoming the gentleman that he is. Matt moved to Los Angeles when he was 16 to live with his father(John Bennett Perry). Matt's interest in acting increased after he performed in several high school stage productions. In addition to acting he excelled at tennis--he was rated No.17 nationally in the Junior Singles category, and he and his partner were ranked No.3 in Doubles competition.


After his graduation, Perry had intended to enroll at the University of Southern Caifornia, but when he was offered a leading role on the television series "Boys Will Be Boys", he seized the opportunity to begin his chosen career. His other Television Series credits included roles on "Home Free" and "Sydney" as well as a recurring spots on "Growing Pains." He guest-starred on several other shows such as "Beverly Hills,90210", "Who's The Boss?", "The Tracey Ullman Show", "Empty Nest" and "The John Larroquette Show."


In 1993, Matthew and good friend Andrew Hill Newman decided to write their own sitcom, "Maxwell's House," which was about the lives of twentysomething friends, but then NBC already had a similar show in the works. The show was later known as FRIENDS. In 1994, Matt auditioned for the show and got the part of Chandler Bing.


Matthew's hobbies are Writing, Ice Hockey and Softball. His current residence is L.A.


Over the years Matthew has done a lot of television series and movies. He is in my opinion one of the best actors around!
