If any of you are involved in chat, then you have most likely run across unpleasant situations in the rooms before--it makes me very sad that, though I work in a disabled chat room, I find myself distracted by silly little games played by troublemakers with nothing better to do with their time than go out of their way to destroy other folk's lives. All I have ever wanted out of chat was, initially, friends to help me through the rough spots in my own life; after chatting regularly for about a year and a half now, I find that the most important thing to me is now helping others...there are so many people in this world with so many seemingly insurmountable problems--a great day or night in chat for me is when someone comes in that thinks their world is ending, and I am able to reach out a hand in friendship to them and lend comfort and/or a smile to their lives. For me, that's what life is all about--not the games and not the hatred and not the lies. I just ran across the above quote, and I am going to try to hold firm to that, and also to the fact that the "friends" I lost in the recent unpleasantness weren't really my friends anyways...
