LINE 1

(1) Henry V. Chase was born Abt. 1831 in New York and died before 1930, probably in Michigan.  He married Ella Brewer probably in East Tawas where they had their four children.. Henry and Ella listed themselves as being born in New York on their son, Guy's, birth certificate and Henry is listed as being a laborer.  Henry and Ella moved to Big Rapids, abt. 1882.   Henry and Ella had four children: Eova, Charles, William, and Guy.

    (2)  Eova Chase was born Abt. 1862, probably in East Tawas, Iosco County, Michigan.

    (2)  Charles Chase was born Abt. 1865, probably in East Tawas, Iosco County, Michigan.  He married a woman named Daisy and was in Grand Rapids in April 1945 according to his brother, Guy's, obituary.   Charles died between 1950 and 1951 in Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan.

    (2)  William Chase was born Abt. 1867, probably in East Tawas, Iosco County, Michigan.

    (2)  Guy Chase was born March 09, 1870 in East Tawas, Iosco, Michigan.  He had a brother Charles Chase.  When he was 12 years old his family moved to Big Rapids, where he spent his early life.    He married VaLona Naomi Noble  in 1893 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. For 15 years he was employed with the Greilick factory and then 15 years with the Johnson Randall company. Active in the Knights of Pythias lodge and well known in D.O.K. circles.  He was a member fo the Michigan National Guard, serving in Company A, 34th regiment. Guy died April 1945 in Traverse City, Grand Traverse, Michigan.  He is buried  in the family lot in Oakwood Cemetery.  Guy Chase and VaLona Noble had at least 3 children, Ralph Noble, Ilah, and Evelyn.

          (3) Evelyn Alice Chase was born June 12, 1895 in Big Rapids, Michigan.   She was a graduate of Traverse City High School, class of 1915, and attended Albion college for a year, terminating her studies there on account of ill health. She was an active member of the Central Methodist Episcopal church and Sunday school.  She died on October 17, 1930 in Traverse City and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery next to her mother and father.

          (3)  Ilah M. Chase was born May 28, 1901  in Traverse City, Grand Traverse, Michigan.  She married Carl B. Anderson in 1927 in Traverse City, Grand Traverse, Michigan.  Ilah grew up in Traverse City. She attended Eastern Michigan University and Michigan State University. She taught art classes in the public school systems of Traverse City, Suttons Bay, and Kingsley. She served as a VISTA volunteer from 1967 to 1968 in Oklahoma, working with the Cherokee Indians. She was an active member of Central United Methodist Church where she was President of Church Women United and worked on the history of that church. She was a senior citizen representative to the Traverse City Downtown Development Authority. She was a life member of the Traverse City Women's Club and a member of the Retired Teacher's Association, the Welcome Wagon, Meals on Wheels, Traverse City Senior Citizens, World War I Women's Auxiliary, Traverse City Golf and Country Club, the Northwestern Michigan Fair Association, and the National Cherry Festival. She was also a state representative of the P.T.A..  She died January 1980 in Old Mission, Grand Traverse, Michigan.

        (3)  Ralph Noble Chase was born May 12, 1906, Traverse City, Grand Traverse, Michigan.  He married Hazel Marie Sheckler.  He was a travelling salesman at one time. He retired as a real estate broker.  He died November 1976  in Wickenburg, Arizona.

LINE 2

(1)   James Chase, birth and death dates and places unknown, married an unknown woman, and had at least one child, Joy H. Chase (James Chase's name obtained from Joy Chase's death certificate).

    (2)   Joy H. Chase was born abt. Abt. November 07, 1841 in New York.  He was a veteran of the civil war, being a member of the 26th Regiment of Wisconsin Volunteers. He moved to Paradise Township from Chicago abt. 1879 and resided on the west side until abt. 1894 when he removed to Summit City.    He died on June 15, 1901 in Paradise Township, Grand Traverse, Michigan.   He is buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City.  Joy Chase married an unknown woman and had at least four children: Sarah L., James, Frank M., and Charles F..   Joy's first wife must have preceded him in death as his obituary states that he had stepchildren at the time of his death.

        (3)   Sarah Lavinia Chase was born July 31, 1863 in Wisconsin.  She married Dean Crain on April 16, 1888 in Long Lake, Michigan.  She had three children:  Earl Crain born October 11, 1891, William Floyd Crain born May 11, 1888, and Norman Crain born March 01, 1889.  She died on December 27, 1931 in Monroe Center, Michigan and is buried in Monroe Center Cemetery.
