Roseate Spoonbill

Roseate Spoonbill ~ Ajaia ajaja ~ Roseate spoonbills are medium sized birds with long spoon shaped bills, hence the name spoonbill. They have pink bodies and legs , white necks and breasts, bald crowns of green skin and bright red shoulder patches. They have often been confused with flamingos and scarlet ibises because of their pink color. The Roseate Spoonbill feeds by sweeping it's bill through the and straining out small invertabrates.

The Roseate Spoonbill loves in the mangrove habitat.
