You stray off the path to find a small clearing surrounded by clumps of
raspberry bushes and small saplings of carrotwood and brazilian pepper.
The dirt floor has rather turned into one covered in sparse grasses, but
you begin to notice that there is more sunlight here, and the trees are
young and healthy, just beginning to reach toward the canopy.
Looking around, you can feel a slight breeze wafting through the trunks
of the young trees, and you begin to feel quite at ease. Suddenly you hear
a small whimper and a flash of blue. Turning quickly, you look to see a
Chevei.
She bounds up to you, whuffing at the air around you and generally inspecting
you uneasily. Apparently satisfied, she looks up at you and speaks.
"Hallo traveler."
You look rather surprised. It can speak?
"Yes, traveler, I can speak. English, too." She looks rather proud of this
fact. "My name is Deniyn'Kayna. But most people call me Deni."
She smiles again and you return the grin. Suddenly she turns and looks
rather surprised.
"I must go, traveler. It was...good to see you. Please come back soon.
Perhaps later I will have a little more time to chat, no?"
With that she gallops away and all you can do is turn back.
