In silence I stand
    staring back at myself
    reflections in a fractured mirror.
    Broken images of a man
    fragments of a whole.
Watching as the images twist and turn,
    opening and closing,
    jagged edges tearing at me,
    an ever changing puzzle
    that eludes it's completion.
All the while it speaks the truth
    saying not a word
yet showing me who I am
it is the true reflection of me
images perceived by a fractured society.
    I, like my mirror
    was once whole,
    once clear and brilliant
but now a mosaic of love and hatred,
    pleasure, pain, and anguish survive.
