The 'Mambo' hails from Cuba and is characterized by spicy
rhythms, playful interactions and latin-style hip motion. A
unique feature of the Mambo is that the dancer holds 1 beat
in every measure. Most of the movements emphasize the
measure's 2nd beat, suggestive of the Clave rhythm which
is fundamental to Mambo music. The Mambo features fast
kicks, quick twists and spins and challenging break actions
combined with the pulsating energetic rhythm of the music.
