Welcome To Bob & Shelly's Home Page

Thanks for visiting our site today, looks like the never ending hurricane season has finally slowed down a bit and things are slowly getting back to normal here. Work has been on hold at our home build since the storms hit, but site clean up is nearly done. We were set to form the foundation on August 13, but Hurricane Charley had other plans for us that day. We had lots of tree damage and quite a bit of debris from our neighbors garage size storage barn that blew up and into our build site.

We were very fortunate and escaped any real damage at our rental home, but we were with out power for 8 days and with out water for three. Damage through out the town was tremendous and many businesses and homes have not even begun to rebuild or tear down yet. Debris littered the entire county and is still being picked up two months after the first storm hit.

We hope to begin again on our build in the coming weeks.

The Devisation of Hurrican Charley

Our historic downtown was hit very hard by Charley and many businesses are still closed, as finding contractors to rebuild or re-roof is next to impossible now. This will impact our new home build as well, but we are fortunate to still have a roof over our heads.

Welcome to Arcadia?

Yes, even our old landmark water tower that greeted people arriving into Arcadia was destroyed. A similar photo circulated around the world right after the storm in August.

Site Work at 14 Kelly Drive

Here is what our site looked like the day after the storm hit. We have spent many a weekend out with chainsaws cutting and hauling fallen limbs and trees to the curb for pickup. Click Here for more on our build
