Saturday Morning, we all met for Breakfast where another 3 hr + discussion went on. The weather turned cool and we all ventured to an indoor affair at the Georgia Acquarium, where Luther Keene and Gloria employer had a hand in constructing. We spent several hours in the Acquarium and then ventured to the "Varsity" famous hot dogs and chili. Un unscheduled tour was had by most of us, as we got lost. Some ending up in Georgia Tech with an ongoing Tailgate party, and the others touring the outskirts. We all meet back up at the DoubleTree Inn.
The Stone Mt. event did not come to fruition due to the lack of response of late. Initially we had over 75 interested Classmates. This is what encouraged us to choose Stone Mountain. Hopefully, many will be able to attend the "50th" in Delray in the Year 2014! See you all then. Keep us posted of your whereabouts and your email changes as we would like to continue to inform classmates. Thanks, Tina Kelley H.

For those who don't remember Jim, he was a dear friend of Marty Auerback, Gail Schamback, Judy Oliver, and others
Here a little family history related to my company. My oldest son Jim II, graduated from U of Florida where his mother my first wife graduated, and our second son, Jeff graduated from Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville. Both my sons worked in their related career fields for almost two years and didn't like what they were doing. Thank God, one of my closest friends Scott Johnston whom I was playing church league softball with at the time was the Special Ops Division Chief with Boca Raton Fire Rescue. Scott said he could really relate to their situation so he had a chat with Jim II. The next thing I knew both my sons were back in college to become para-medics; and after that they went onto the fire academy. Now, both are firefighter/para-medics on the job for two years and have never had a day they have not loved their work. God is good!
I when back to college when I was still living in Breckenridge, Colorado. My good old Palm Beach Junior College AA degree credits were transferable to Metropolitan State College of Denver, so enrolled and took a semester of prerequisites to get into the School of Addictive Behaviors in their Human Services department and took their two year program to become an addictions specialist with Colorado certification. I finished with a CAC II certification, and my Bachelor of Science in Human Services.
I often share how being spiritually moved to go back to college at age 46 was a life changing experience, and huge blessing. It opened a whole new world to me at a critical time in my life when a relationship had ended with heartache and I was devastated by the loss. I've come to believe God has always taken me where I needed to be, even though at times it was very painful. It those painful experiences that have made me an excellent counselor and today I'm thankful for them.
Anyway, I did a lot of work with court order clients sent from the Denver judicial system when I worked as a counselor at Dynamic Directions Counseling Center in Littleton, CO. Now, in addition to managing my Fire Rescue Blade company. I still enjoy helping folks with relationship codependency issue. Although my certification is in Colorado I work here as a relationship coach/mentor, and don't need the title counselor. It's great, working for myself I get to pick and choose who I work. So, unless a person really has a burning desire to make changes in their life I don't waste there time or take their money. I simply tell them to come back when their really ready to make a commitment to do the necessary work to accomplish their goal. I think that being honest and fair with them.
I'm blessed to be married to my second wife, Dottie, for six year this past June 7th, she's wonderful! Dot's a Penn State grad, and the program developer and trainer for the human resource department of Delray Beach.
We both volunteer our time on Friday nights to facilitate groups for a program called Celebrate Recovery. "Celebrate Recovery" helps people interested in working on Hurts, Hangups, or Habits, it's definitely not just about Alcohol/Drugs recovery. The program was started at Pastor Rick Warren's (author of The Purpose Driven Life) Saddleback Church in California. It's truly a wonderful program and currently offered worldwide in over 3500 churches. About 80 people attend the program at our church, Soncoast Community Church, in Boca Raton. I'd say about 40% of those attending are working on codependency issue which my wife facilitate groups for, she does a women's group and I men. The others attending are working on remaining free of alcohol/chemical dependency. The program is free, and anyone wanting to work on a hurt, hangup, or habit is welcome on Friday nights. Program start out with a great meal at 6PM.
My life isn't perfect but it's pretty darn great. My family has been very blessed. My sons love and respect their stepmother Dottie. And, my ex-wife and her husband, who my sons love, are all good friends and we get to see each other often socially. God's been really is good to us.
Hopefully, one of these days Dottie and I; and my best buddies Marty Auerback, and Dr. Gail Schamback, and their wives will be able to join you and our other friends at one of the up coming reunions. We'll have to see how things work out. Thanks again for putting www.FireRescueBlades.come on the website. I hope it helps to get the word out about our life saving rescue saw blade "the EXTRACTOR". I can report to you that Fire departments from Pacific coast to Atlantic coast are hearing about it and using it. Even, Homeland Security Customs and Immigration's Caribbean Strike Force Unit in San Juan, PR is using my EXTRACTOR blade, for cutting into ships, boats, shipping container, truck bodies and concrete and steel warehouses. I sell it to fire departments 40% cheaper than any copy-cat rescue blades on the market, which we've out performed in all tests conduct by firefighters. It's a phenomenal saw blade and I really appreciate the opportunity to further spread the word.
