The Columbine High Tragedy: A Memorial Site

Guardian angels above, please keep watch over the survivors of this tragedy, and sit your 13 new doves by God's side in peace forever. Please leave me or the other passers-through a message and let me know what you think of this website. Residents of Littleton may see this, so please use descretion when writing. Talk about it on the message board. The song you are (supposed to be) hearing right now is a MIDI version of "In The Air Tonight" by Phil Collins. This is the song that made me think immediately of this tragedy (I can't think of another word to use, unfortunately) and the first to break my own shock and make me finally cry about it after two days.
This page comes to you from Lake Worth, Florida.
and is for the survivors, the victims and their family and friends in Littleton, Colorado.
*************Our hearts go out to you************* In certain ways, I can only state what has been said by millions of people across the United States and around the world: that I express my deepest sympathies to the families and friends of the slain *children* of Columbine Community High School in Littleton, Colorado. People have asked me if I'm going to send flowers or cards or things that will fade or wither away. I could send those flowers, I could send those cards, and I could do a lot of other things of the like, but I figured that since a lot of people who were touched have the internet, that a virtual memorial is a nice gift that will last for a much longer time. People who can't lay flowers at the doorstep of the school and grieve can just come here. I want to be able to show everybody that the internet is not full of horrible monsters, but that there are a lot of us out here who actually care.
To relive the entire scenario minute by minute is senseless to me. Not only that, but it's wrong for me to put it up, as that is what is called exploitation. If you know about it, then you're filled in, because to exploit this, it would hurt the survivors, the family and friends of the slain, and it does nobody any good. It's honestly like rubbernecking as you drive by the scene of an accident. On that note, my focus for this site is one for the heroes-- the kids who tried to save their dying teacher (who is a hero himself!), the girl in the library who fell on top of a young man to cover the baseball slogan on his shirt, the teacher who kept her class full of students as calm as possible as shots rang out and she called 9-1-1...these are God's angels at work. I am including a page for the wounded and if/when I get updates on them, those updates will be included on that page. Also, I will include a tribute/memorial page for those who passed, one group page, and each person will have their own page with photos and information I've managed to gather on them. One thing I've considered is a page requiring a password that may have some pictures that children will not be allowed to view..it will be an informative page, how to avoid something like this again, and a link to "Klanwatch", which is a website of people keeping an eye on people who hate for what's really no reason at all (race, religion, etc.). It's not final as to whether or not I will put a page like that in here. It belongs here, but not as public viewing. It truly saddens me that I have to make a website like this in the first place. We here in Florida should not have to know these people as victims. We should know them as the successful young people of our generation. Some perhaps famous in a different way. Now we'll never know.......but what we DO know is that they were good kids and one excellent teacher and coach who will definately be missed.
