The Golden Arches

 

     The red seat

     on the golden

     hamburger-head horse.

     Is so inviting.

     My child self would ride

     and sit under

     The yellow-red

     Plastic roof

     Seeking a dark

     respite from the sun.

 

Now the seat                                                  

is too small                                                                  

but I can still play.                                                        

The short slide                                                 

is not yet                                                                      

too short.                                                                     

And I love the                                                  

netted rooms                                                   

full of                                                                           

red, yellow balls                                                           

 

And now I look

at castle gyms

of yellow-red

plastic

slides and balls

Towering over

but all

Too small.
