Sharkkbait's Waters.... (con't)

So much water so few sharks

Many myths remain about sharks. They do not track humans for prey, and in most cases, it is only accidental contact. Shark cartilage has been used for cancer, and other disease, however, is has been scientificly proven again, and again, that it does NOT reduce cancerous tumors, or add strength to ANY bodily systems. Yet we still hunt sharks for these useless ventures.

The shark is an awesome creature, who is very misunderstood. The conservation of sharks is not just a matter of keeping a species alive, but also keeping the food chain in the waters alive. And no, WE are not in their food chain. As with all life, there is a delicate balance in the oceans, that is currently being changed, with unwanted results, and environmental damage. Man has always feared (and usually killed) what they don't understand. We no longer burn "witches", nor do we kill handicapped people because we think they are posessed, as we did in the Middle Ages. We no longer need to fear the shark, we can co-exist when WE enter THEIR domain for our own pleasures.
Please support shark conservation!

*Referenced from a great book called "Sharks, Myth and Reality", by Gaetano Cafiero and Maddalena Johoda, with good information about all different types of sharks. The photography is absoulutely INCREDIBLE. Also, below are a couple of links to different shark related topics. Thanks for swimming through Sharkkbait's waters!
